In Gus I trust, or as Marks said "We got a good one"

Are you kidding?  Known quanities (talent that is injured) is much different than a question mark (potentially unknown talent that isn't "developed).

As I'm sure you're referencing the Jags young players, yes we all hope they develop but the truth is that they are unknowns until they show actual development.

Lol sounds like you are the upset one. What are you gonna do when we win? Oh that's right, complain about it.

I'm fine with Gus getting a 3rd year but I think some big changes need to happen in order for him to be successful.  Number one is finding a new OC.  He needs someone to run the offensive side of the ball that has NFL experience and knows how to run an offense at an NFL level.  I wish somehow we had been able to get Norv Turner here, him working with Blake would be fantastic.

Why would I complain about a win? You think I wasn't excited watching th Giants implode? This thread is about Gus being the "guy." He has shown me nothing but an improving DLine that he's not. You will defend every bad move to the grave because you don't see what others do. Sounds like you are clinging to something because they told you so.

The Jags, I believe, are headed in the right direction. The young guys have slowly but surely come along as the season has progressed. I truly believe that, and that's what my eyes have told me. Last year was more or less a throw away year for everybody.

Also, That's been Oface's modus operandi for a looong time.

Actually I can use my own eyeballs to see the team improve. I don't need the validation of a win loss record in the second year of a rebuild to know which way this team is headed. I can see it for myself. It seems you can't, as evidenced by your idea that the Giants "imploded" on themselves. Lol. Eli didn't even throw a pick that game. Are you kidding me? The Jags D punched the Giants in the mouth. Everything they got, they took from the Giants. Next time try watching the game.

When you're up 21-0, and then you start turning the ball over for TD's, then yes you have imploded.  Look at the Eagles game week 1.  Did WE not lose that game? Wallbash

I think it all goes back to personal expectations and understanding of where the team was when these guys got here. If you felt this team should have turned around quickly after a total rebuild then that's your business.

If you realized it would take a few years yo accumulate some talent before the team would start getting wins then kudos yo you as well.

I tend to be with the latter. I saw the roster had no marquee players before they came and would take a while before they acquired some of those players to make us a team who would win ball game .

The Jags picked it up in the second half but the Giants also did what they have done their previous 6 games which is play worse inthe 2nd half than in the 1st half.  Look up the stats yourself unless discussing facts isn't good enough for you. And no Eli didn't throw a pick, he just fumbled the ball away.

Gus needs to work on his pronunciation of " Jaguars " ( jag-wahrs), not Jag-wires.

...as a direct result of their offense getting punched in the mouth by our defense.  :whistling:

I guess this is a matter of whether you wish to say our defense took that game away from NY or whether you choose to say that NY gave it away, I reckon. Seems to me like it might be a little bit of both.

I knew it was a process, HOWEVER, why are we the same as last year, or even worse? The dline line. That's it. I was expecting 6 games won this year. That's just 2 from last year. I don't think that the bar was set too high on that one...

...and apparently every defense they played in the last 6 games?

I think you're trying to make an either/or argument when it's more of a both/and...but why use logic here?

I propose that both the Jags D stepped up AND the Giants choked...as opposed to you're proposal that we solely whooped their tail.

Like I said, it has a lot to do with personal perception. I look at a team like the tinhorns. These guys are stacked with talent and have 6 wins this year. They only won 2 last year. I am a Jags fan first but I love football period. I watch tons of it. I watch the replays through out the week. I consume football every year. With this understanding of other teams it is very hard for me to expect this level of production from a team with no JJ Watt, Cushing, J. Joseph, Arian Foster, A. Johnson, Brooks Reed, Duane Brown etc...

I know we only care about what the jags do but you have to use perspective.

We have young talent that can be those players in a few year but right now they just aren't there. I live out here in texas now. Just moved here last year and no one can name on player on our team. That says a lot other true football fans who play fantasy football can't name one player on your favorite team lol.

I can't even begin to talk about how bad this roster was in 2012. Either you know it or you don't. Either way it was hard for me to expect anything better than last year at best because the talent just ins't there on the team yet. Not enough pieces.

To be fair Ryan did just throw six touchdowns last week.

 Why you mad bro?

Quote:Exactly. 6-22 overall, and 2-10 this season. Jumping around like you win the super bowl, shows he doesn't realize the overall picture and status this team is currently in. This team looks like it has most of the pieces to put a competitive/winning team, however, these coaches look like they are trying to figure out ancient symbols without the Rosetta stone. Too many mistakes and lack of awareness.

I think Caldwell made some good picks, but the coaches lack the experience and the smarts. I could care less if the players like him. When TC was here, they hated him. Fined them for being late, not wearing suits, etc. Yet, they went to two AFC championships in 4 years. In today's standards that's Patriot like.

If the offense stuck with the hurry up from the start of the game we would have a better chance against the Texans.
