Jameis Winston hearing at noon today

http://espn.go.com/college-football/stor...tate-day-2

interesting article here. jameis lawyer seems like he is spinning things, yet confident jameis will be found not guilty.

the accuser's attorney seems to be sticking to what he said all along and is also confident, but that jameis will be guilty.

if its true what they say about the inconsistencies in the official statements on top of neither jameis or the other 2 witnesses testifying, i cant see how a judge wouldnt find that suspicious and reasonable that theyre trying to hide something.

Attorneys speaking like attorneys. Not sure how you gathered anything new there.

Right, but this isn't some new revelation. This information has been out.

i never said anything was new. thats something you created, again, like you FSU guys like to do. just make up stuff that people say or think and then argue with them about it.

Quote:So either they conclude fast because there is nothing, or they wait until the new semester begins because sports.

I believe I read that it has to be done when classes are going on.

Knowing this board though, yeah because of sports.

I'm just not understanding the point then. Rehash something that has been discussed numerous times on the board with information that is a year old? You said the article was interesting. It really wasnt. Nothing new was said.

How did you come to the conclusion that Cornwell is spinning things? I didn't get that at all reading that. Just lawyer talk from both sides.

That's what I read. You'd think there was some revelation and after reading it I'm like huh?

because cornwell has said in statements throughout all of this that he intended on getting everything done with by the end of this hearing, now its being dragged out 10 school days. he said that jameis planned on clearing his name here once and for all, but jameis not testifying doesnt sound like jameis clearing his name to me. jameis not testifying means 100% still going to be a civil suit.

and to answer jtmoney, rehashing things that are a year old for a totally different hearing. we knew all this with the police investigation and they found reasonable doubt so he was not charged, but this hearing is different so those same facts could have different implications now. thats why.

You expected Jameis to testify? Really? He would be the worst lawyer in the world if he let him.

But you stated the article was interesting and there was literally nothing interesting in it. No new take, no new information. And you stated a specific part in the article which I guess you found interesting even though we knew this information last year.

once again, the implications of the evidence is different for this hearing than the previous investigations. so yes its from last year but it is pertinent to the decision thats currently being made.

So, what options of punishment are there?

Anything from a written or verbal reprimand, suspension, or expulsion.

Written or verbal reprimand? LOL. Does that go in his personnel file?

Is there an appeals process? I assume so; i.e., can this be stretched out past the National Championship game (should they get that far).

Here is Winston's statement he made in the hearing. There are some explicit details in the statement.

So basically he asked and was given consent to have sex with the woman.

Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

There is no spinning, its lawyer talk defending their client on both sides.

I'm curious as to where the inconsistencies are in Casher's and Darby's statements. They've talked to the police and at their own student hearing (for invading the girl's privacy by opening the door while they were having sex), and in both instances seemed to say the same thing from what I read.

Can anyone help me out?

I hope her statement is made available. I would love to read that.
