Quote:When did Morris get there?

I got into it with someone on here when Dabo got the interim title and then eventually the job. He said Dabo would fizzle out, I said he'd be pretty highly successful. Still have those pm's with the poster who has since left.

2011.

A smidge... maybe a scoatch was too big of a step for you. Is a smidge less then a scoatch?

Quote:Cant deny the progression he made, but im not sold on this hire unlike Meyer who had a more credible resume with Utah.

Quote:Agree with this.  Then again, is there a candidate like Urban available?

Was Urban really all that good, or did he luck into a perfect storm of players for those few seasons?
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

What am I hearing? You telling me he takes Utah to an undefeated season and BCS Bowl game, delivers two National titles to UF, Ohio State to an undefeated season, BCS Bowl game, and a running 35-3 record, and you got the nerve to ask if he was all that good? Heck, he has a 17-6 record at Bowling Green for Pete's sake. Alex Smith, Tim Tebow, Braxton Miller, JT Barrett, maybe it's the players, but not the players they are under the tutelage of Meyer. i can only speak with great reverence about a coach like that

If he was a Chip Kelly, Bob Stoops money wouldnt be an issue, but he is still a up and comer and not proven with the big boys yet

Having Dan Mullen and Charlie Strong on your staff certainly helped, along with a once in a lifetime college QB. It also helped that Miami and FSU both sucked during the time.

Lol was Urban that good? He lead Bolling Green to bowl games had Josh Harris looking amazing, Utah with Alex Smith helps him become first pick Heisman candidate, UF Tebow, Ohio st Braxton Miller and Barrett

Yea sure he lucked into all those players and all those perfect storms, plz take off the hater glasses

Rich Rod and Urban Meyer transformed college football with the spread option, like I said earlier every team runs some form of it and even being run in the NFL.

You can say that about any great coach having a great staff and great players, Nick Saben how many coaches went on to success and Bobby Bowden same with him

Yall need to live with the fact Meyer is one of the best coaches of this generation

They are too busy trying to find choice #2 for the #1 job in the country.

Just a infinitesimal? For english, that is the smallest amount I can possible ask you to lower your seriousness level. I think that is a reasonable request.

I went to Florida...so pretty sure I'm not a hater! Lol It was a serious question...I didn't follow his career at BG or Utah so I have no clue what he did at either of those schools.

Well you had to have some idea of what he did with Utah before being hired by florida.

Trav, in all seriousness Smile, is this just your personal belief or was there something on twitter that this might not be coming together.

When they announced him as the new coach I didn't run out and research him...just like I won't delve into whomever the new coach is either. It will be...oh, good, hope he wins. I don't have a building named after me on campus yet, so I have no say in who they pick as the coach, looking into his record after the fact isn't going to change who they hire, so I don't worry about it.

wow to bigjohn trying to dismiss urban meyers coaching ability. urban is one of the top 5 coaches in the ncaa, easily. he did a tremendous job with bowling green, utah, florida, and now ohio state.

just because he coached florida and won a couple championships, i know youre upset still, but jeeze.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I didn't dismiss anything, but don't act like it was all Urban though. He had a great coaching staff and a once in a lifetime QB.

Ok. Well he wasn't exactly a secret when winning with utah. That was a pretty big story that year so just surprised you had no idea who he was.
