Quote:Well MJD has the franchise record for rushing TDs and all-time TDs. Is that worthy enough? While it's true MJD does have more rushing TD and all time TDs. He doesn't have more rushing yards, which to me is the main stat for a RB.. If he had rushed for more yards than Freddy T, especially with the TD records, he would be in for sure, but he didn't. JMHO, that's all. It's not up to any of us in here anyway. We'll know in a few years what they decide to do with MJD.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
Quote:While it's true MJD does have more rushing TD and all time TDs. Layered into the particular Touchdown argument is the way that Coughlin used Taylor when he was here. Taylor would move the ball down the field, and then Stacey Mack would score the TD. This didn't happen all of the time, but it seemed like the only way Fred would score a TD would be if he ran it in from more than 20 yards out.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say! Quote:Top 50 all time rushing list. 4.4 career yrd per carry. Great career for the Jags. Just because flsportsgod and mvp got their feewings huwrt doesn't mean he is exempt from the ring of honor. I think most feel that Mark was borderline deserving of the Pride. The only difference is that Mark's "era" was a great era of Jaguar football. That era was so instrumental to the success of our history...success which is not duplicated by MJD's era. When people think of Jaguars lore, its that 96-2001 teams that stood out. That's Mark, Tony, Fred, and Jimmy/Keenan. There's really only two "moments" that I would say MJD has: the Colts game (where everyone ran wild on the Colts) and the Steelers game in the playoffs. I don't think that's enough. I want players who REALLY meant something to the Jaguars to be in the Pride... Here's why I wouldn't put MJD in: 1. He doesn't have the longevity of Fred Taylor 2. He doesn't have the playoff success/moments that Tony/Mark had 3. Some of his stats were padded by some terrible teams built around him (not his fault, but still). That "rushing champion" is as empty an accolade as I have seen in sports. 4. Finally, and this might be as important as the others... Mark, Tony, and Fred are all very much involved here locally. MJD would leave Jacksonville every chance he got if he didn't have games to play here. MJD never took pride in being a Jaguar or being a part of the Jacksonville community. He was always about MJD...yes, it is a chip on his shoulder that allowed him to play at his best while he was still here. But unless something changes and MJD re-connects with this team, community, and fanbase...then no, I don't want him on the pride.

Fred used to help get the Jags down to the 5 -10 yard line and TC would take Fred out and let someone else score the TD way too many times. Fred should have more TDs then he currently retired with, probably even be the franchise leader. I used to wonder why TC did that.
