If Winston's was, hers should be at some point right ?

Quote:I'm curious as to where the inconsistencies are in Casher's and Darby's statements. They've talked to the police and at their own student hearing (for invading the girl's privacy by opening the door while they were having sex), and in both instances seemed to say the same thing from what I read.

Can anyone help me out?

I don't think we're privileged to that info yet.

I have no idea. I would hope it would be.

Guess it all depends on who released the statement. The article just says that they obtained it, not who gave it to them. So if his lawyers released it, I wouldn't expect hers to be released unless her team releases it themselves.
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

Quote:You expected Jameis to testify? Really? He would be the worst lawyer in the world if he let him.

But you stated the article was interesting and there was literally nothing interesting in it. No new take, no new information. And you stated a specific part in the article which I guess you found interesting even though we knew this information last year.

This isn't a court room though....I would think there are different standards for the school.

Lets say we are FSU students and you say that I stole $5000 out of your dorm room.  You lay your case out to prove I did it.  I basically say no comment.  Doesn't that seem a tad shady?

Quote:So basically he asked and was given consent to have sex with the woman.

Yes, but as we all know, that consent can be revoked even after the conclusion of the event.

No lawyer would advise you to talk and open yourself up for questioning in this type of case. None, it doesn't matter if it is different then court room.

Ok, but if the rules are different as far as "convicting" someone, then he may have hurt more than helped.

I don't think it hurt him at all. He has more to lose then gain by testifying.

Why?  If he's telling the truth then there should be nothing to worry about.  If he's worried the other side of pointing out all the other things he's done and the other girl who had to see a psychologist I get it....but I'm guessing if it was allowed to be put in as evidence, they would do that anyway.

Generally speaking, that's just how it works. This is not unique to this case and although the essence of what you are saying may be true, that's not the reality of court proceedings. Unless your intent was just to throw out the "If he's telling the truth....." statement.

Quote from article: It is not a surprise that Winston chose not to testify or answer questions from Harding. Legal experts have previously said that by testifying Winston might have exposed himself to potential criminal charges or hurt his defense in a future civil suit filed by the accuser.

Again, nothing to gain, but he has a lot to lose.

That was basically my whole point.  There is so much they can throw at him to discredit him as much as possible that does it really matter if he went up there or not?

I'd be interested if what the other girl said happened with her was allowed to be put into evidence.  That could be some strong testimony right there.

You don't think she's going to sue him civilly or settle out of court after this happens?  She's getting something eventually from him.

Yes, but anything he says from the questions can be used against him. It isn't wise for him to do and he has little to gain and a lot to lose.

I guess....the girls life has been turned upside down.  I still don't understand why she would keep pursuing anything if nothing happened.  I'm not saying it did, I'm just saying she hasn't really backed down and has remained consistent.

With the abuse she has taken from the media and on social media, she is standing by what she said.

Abuse from the media? What abuse has she taken? Almost everything that has been written about this has been written from her side making Jameis look like the villain.

And how in the world has she remained consistent? Her story of what happened that night has changed four times. She's been consistently inconsistent if anything.

When Jameis is found innocent, she deserves everything she gets.

She hasn't exactly been consistent. Once she pursued it yes, but as from Winston's testimony they tried to go after him for $7 million. You don't think she has anything to gain? Just as her staying consistent (up to a point) doesn't mean Jameis is guilty, her going after $7 million doesn't mean she is guilty.

The ol story has changed 4 times. Its like she says she had red nail polish on as opposed to pink and everyone's like omg! How can we believe anything she has said!??!?!!

Where is the logical in your thinking? So you're telling me you're still willing to give this liar the benefit of the doubt when her story about what happened that night has changed multiple times as opposed to someone who has remained with the same story of consensual sex the whole time?
