Quote:I think we'll see current starters battling for their jobs in camp at LG, C and RT. Whether current players step up or new guys take over - they'll get better and hopefully have some decent depth for the first time in years. I hope that's the case, we should always have multiple guys who COULD be the starter, that's a sign of depth. Unfortunately, we also need to find guys better than the current ones and that isn't always easy, especially when you're doing the youth movement. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

No idea where in the draft or free agency it may be sourced, but I doubt they are ready to rest on their laurels there. I'd be a little surprised by a second rounder though. IMO, Bowanko was in the same position as Bortles this season. He was their player of the future forced to play now.

Quote:I'd be happy if any of them could be significantly upgraded, but I think the biggest offensive line need is someone to call out blocking assignments.I think calling out the assignments is key and they better get that figured out by this weekend. I'm not sure if the QB is calling any blocking changes if he sees blitz coming. b/c when the team blitzes they seem to run right through the line. ??
Quote:Joeckel, Bowanko and Linder will get further opportunities next yearThis is true, Joeckel hopefully can get better cause at this point he is a bust. I think Pazstor is good for depth but ultimately not a great RT. Linder seems to be consistently getting praise for PFF. It also does not help that Robison isn't great at pass protection and he is basically our starting back.

Of course many agree - but I wouldn't use the "B word." I think he's just a 1st rounder that plays like a 4th rounder in pass protection on half a dozen snaps per game or so. If he stays healthy - I tend to think a full offseason of training will pay dividends. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Jags need to start Toby this Sunday and fire off with a HB screen or TE screen on JJ side to slow that rush but fake really good. One other play you could start off with is a shovel pass past JJ when he rushes in full speed. Keep Lewis in to help block JJ. He hasn't been used much so at least you won't have to use another lineman and leave a hole elsewhere. Double him and run right at him to wear him down. Toddman, Toby, and then hit him with speed with D-ROB. You could go Toby 1st then Todd. We really have a good chance to win. Don't get beat deep by that WR that has more yards than Andre Johnson. Pound right at them and take their heart!!!! Jaguars #1
Uneducated fans will place the blame solely on the QB and the plays called. I think criticism towards Fisch isn't unjustified but we really need a Pro Bowl caliber playing on the O-line and a dual-threat TE that can block and receive.
No pain, no gain.
I would run Toby first to pound the ball at Watt to tirer him out and with Toddman for power and speed. Which set up shovel pass and D-Rob around the edge. So no! Game winner Mr. Look at me.
