Justin Blackmon, did you know?

Make a name for yourself, kid, make a name for yourself on this humble message board.

So stating facts is "downplaying" JBs achievements?

Its a fact that Rams busted coverages on his 2 big plays against them. And its a fact he doesnt have great speed. And i praised him when he tore up the broncos.

I couldnt care any less about "making a name for myself" on a place as dimwitted as this MB. I just give my opinion. If you dont agree with me theres no need to get all butthurt.

I have repeatedly stated he could be a top 15 WR but people on this board love to overreact when there is the slightest sign of talent on this team. Hes going to be a good player, but not elite IMO. Sorry I reserve the word "elite" for the top 5 players at their position, instead of just including everyone.. Im going to defend my opinion until his play proves me wrong.

Me as well. Its not like I dont hope he will become a top 5 player at his position, I just dont think he will be. I dont see whats wrong with that.

Jinjo listed Dez Bryant as elite....and I certainly think Blackmon can and will be better than him. In the past 2 years, Dez has had these lines: 1 catch for 15 yards, 2 catches for 14 yards, 3 catches for 22 yards, 4 catches for 22 yards....and this is all with a better QB and more weapons to take the focus off of Bryant....and thats also year 3 & 4 of Bryant's career.

This is Blackmon's year 2, has Henne at QB, has less weapons around him to take focus away, and he's not having those invisible games. Part of being "elite" is showing consistency. Blackmon is showing the ability of Bryant to produce the BIG game i.e. Rams, Broncos, Texans,....but is still putting up respectable numbers in his "off" games too, i.e. 5 for 62 last game.

Why do you think JB will be better? Hes not faster, hes not better after the catch, and he hasnt shown the spectacular catch ability that Dez has. It could possibly change in the future, but its unlikely. I hope im wrong.

Stop throwing around stats like they mean anything. Dez is better than him in almost every way. But hes better than pretty much every WR in almost every way so thats not an indictment on JB. He just wont be as good IMO.

I think he indeed is better after the catch already. Blackmon might also be a better route runner and have better hands, too.

Dez might have better straight line speed, and make a few more occasional highlight catches, but thats about it.

Well its not debatable that Calvin, Aj, Dez and Julio are better right? If I have to waste my breath explaining this to anyone theyre not worth the time. He could possibly be the 5th in the next generation of WRs but he's got a lot to prove.

Just another thought to ponder...Bryant gets much for media publicity and highlihts on SC too compared to Blackmon. Of course playing for Dallas can't hurt.

Cowboy hype.

If Dez Bryant played on the Cleveland Browns, you might not feel as strongly about that.

He's had 3 really good games beginning with the Houston game last year.

In his defense its been more than one game..and I'm not saying Blackmon is better than Dez, AJ but I think he will either match or exceed them in time.

Right now Im not sure Id rather have JB over Josh Gordon. He has a lot to prove. Dez is proven already, and it has nothing to do with what team he plays on.

Quote:Yeah thats exactly what I said, keep makin things up
You're saying you can't be elite without elite speed. That would necessarily mean that jerry rice wasn't elite, because he definitely didn't have that speed. But he's the greatest receiver to ever play

I think it certainly matters to an extent.. especially when you consider who his QB is.
