Josh Norris's top 32 players and NFL comparisons

Quote:Mike Evans worries me. Against Ole Miss, they put a true fresh. Db on him to shadow him the entire game. The db was 6'3 210+ and Evans was held to 4 catches for 46 yards with one reception of 26yards being his longest. Not saying he isn't talented but it raises questions that maybe he has just been putting up the numbers on less physical dbs and a lot of people are predicting him to be a tweenetweeter TE. Will be interesting to see how the rest of the season and off-season progress for him. Doesn't "worry" me at all....I never projected Mike Evans as the kind of great WR that "some" on this board do anyway. I think he'll be a nice complimentary weapon, and will be a very good player especially in the red zone opposite Blackmon if we got him, but as a stand alone star WR in the pro's??.....not gonna happen. LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.
Quote:Why not? Things that I believe will keep Mike Evans from being a star WR (independent of surroundings, ala Blackmon) is that he doesn't have elite speed OR quickness. I think he will have trouble at times creating separation at the next level. He's not a polished route runner, either. He's a long strider, too, ala Matt Jones. People initially wondered about Blackmons lack of top end speed, but Blackmon makes up for that with his quick twitch athleticism; Theres a lot of "sudden" in Blackmon's game and that is something all the great ones have. Evans does not possess this. Now, that doesn't mean that I don't think Evans can still be a useful, good weapon - I think paired next to another good WR, Evans could be a 1000 yard WR in his own right. But instead of being the catalyst, he'll be more of the McCardell to Jimmy type. He'll probably be a great red zone target though. He's a player that I'd like to see the Jags get if possible.
Eh, Brandon Marshall shows you don't need "elite" speed to be a star in the league. Personally, I think Evans will time faster than some people think at the Combine, though some of the WR drills will be absolutely important for him. As for the separation point, with his body control and high-pointing ability, he doesn't need a lot of separation. He's a kid that will absolutely make you pay if you put leave a CB on an island on him.
I dont like the Russell Wilson comparison at all. Other than pocket awareness they have nothing in common. Wilson is short and stocky. Bridgewater is tall and thin. Wilson is a great runner and with his stocky build is very tough to bring down. Bridgewater is athletic enough to run straight ahead but goes down very easily. Wilson, while effective in the pocket, is much better rolling outside the pocket, which helps him see better and allows him to utilize his legs when need be. Bridgewater is a pure pocket passer. While they may both have strong football IQ, not to stereotype the Miami public school system but Bridgewater sounds like a doofus and had a tougher upbringing, while Wilson went to one of those rich elite private high schools in the suburbs of Richmond and is known for his academic prowess and intelligence. They seem like complete opposites in almost everything.
I like the Bridgewater/Geno comparisons. Tall, good arms, athletic enough to run straight ahead but by no means a running QB, both grew up in Miami, etc... the only real difference so far is that, barring any unknown stories we casual fans arent privy to, Geno has a bit of prima donna headcase thing going on while Bridgewater seems to be a really solid guy with a good head on his shoulders ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I know allot if you are too young to have witnessed the guy that Bridgewater reminds me of.
That guy is Warren Moon. Find a few clips of Moon and you will see what I mean.

Lol how do we make such great evaluations from the keyboard? Quote:Doesn't "worry" me at all....I never projected Mike Evans as the kind of great WR that "some" on this board do anyway. Evans is still raw, he was a basketball player turned WR, I dont know if he will be a 100 catch type guy but yea he will be a TD machine and big catch guy. Now if you want a big WR who is not raw Jordan Matthews from Vandy he has never had a good QB throwing him the ball and he is about the break the SEC yards receiving record.
