2014 College Football Playoff Pairups!

Quote:Since 1995 Ohio St. is 1-7 vs. the SEC in bowl games and the one win was forfeited. I don't have a lot of confidence in them beating Alabama.

I don't either, but I would rather lose in the playoffs than not be selected.

Why did you pick the year 1995? The forfeited Sugar Bowl was the first time in school history Ohio State beat an SEC team in a bowl game.

Why did you pick the year 1995? Futility against the SEC has lasted much longer than that.
20 year period. I'm well aware that they have lost many more to the SEC all time.

I sure hope we get an Alabama vs FSU matchup.  That's the game I want to see.

It seems like almost everybody wants that matchup.

Been hearing this song and dance all year...this team or that team is gonna beat them this week...o this is a bad matchup for them or this team is "surging". What happens each week again? O that's right...29-0

If Oregon wins, then Oregon wins. Just glad my Noles made the inaugural playoffs. Proud of my team.

It does seem that way. For me personally, I consider them the two best teams in the country. I see FSU as the only team of the group with the combined size and talent to get past Alabama right now.

Quote:Plus they get a month to prepare.

That helps Ohio State too. Urban used that month in 2008 to destroy Bradford and OU.
Yea Urban did real good against Clemson last year

Hopefully the Sugar Bowl has an ambulance on standby. Saban is gonna make Urban retire again.

Quote:How could the BTCG be fixed? Plain and simple, Ohio State is one of the four best teams in the country. It will be interesting to see how Alabama responds to the shellshock Wisconsin got.

Hahhahahaahaha they're going to respond by making Ohio look like a jv team.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I wonder if Meyer will retire again after Saban crushes him......
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

Quote:The whole TCU scenario is strange. So last week this committee thinks TCU is better than FSU. And now they go down to sixth.

Rece Davis mentioned it and I think TV viewership and matchup hype plays into it.

This is why them moving up to 3 last week was questionable in the first place. Had the committee not moved them up ahead of FSU last week and they stayed at 4, there would have been (EDIT) less complaints this week when Oh St moved up ahead of them.

Could FSU taint the first College Football Playoff and have to give back the hardware after all the Winston dust settles...? I wouldn't have put them in it if I had any feeling that they were involved in point shaving. I wouldn't want my championship, especially the first, to be associated with scandal.

You have to give the benefit of a doubt. You can't leave a team out based solely on suspicion.

FSU going cross-country to the Rose Bowl is not good for them.  Oregon only has to go a little bit south.

I just talked to a guy at work about this.  They will at least have a while longer there than they would for a normal game, but its still much easier on Oregon.  I'm assuming the amount of Oregon fans will be much higher than FSU as well.
