Week 9 Games Of Interest

Quote:You serious Clark? We're going to beat Miami worse than we did Clemson. Miami sucks.

Quote:Wonder of wonders, I did consider that! As I was considering it, I noticed that the only top 25 ranked team that Penn State played -- Michigan -- they defeated! Sadly though, Michigan wasn't ranked in the Top 15. That made me sad. I put aside my misery though and when I did, I noticed that, regardless of who Hackenberg was playing he played well!

Next I thought; "Hey! Ohio State, despite their scientifically confirmed suckiness and all around distasteful treatment of all sweater-wearers, is supposed to have a good defense! I bet it would be fun to watch Hackenberg play them!" So that made me excited to watch football.

Man, I hope they beat Ohio State so bad that all of the proven losers at Ohio State are forced to wear "we are losers" signs on their shirts.

There is no such thing as "scientifically confirmed suckiness." Whether you think a team sucks or not is only your opinion, not a fact.

Are you a Miami fan? Do you really know the Hurricanes are as good as their record? It might not be as obvious as you think.

Quote:Oregon St #25. vs. Stanford#6  is another game I will be sure to watch Sat.

It'll be interesting to see how Mannion performs against that Stanford Defense. They made Hundley look pretty bad last Saturday so I wonder if they can do it again.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

another good weekend for football...  will be staying put this weekend...  my teams..

Vandy at A&M - coming off a huge win for Vandy against the Dawgs.  It was cold that day... was not ready for that weather.  Spent most of the game at our tailgate w/ the beer and flat screen.  Tough day today.  We dont do well against running QBs who can throw a little.  Manziel I imagine will light us up.

Dawgs - Bye... boy do they need it.

other games....

UCLA at Oregon - best matchup of the day.  I have to think the Ducks roll.  UCLA seems a bit overrated and is coming off a tough loss to Stanford.  Exposed Hundley a little.  And Oregon has a surprisingly solid defensive line.

SC at Mizzou - Can the Tigers(they need another nickname) keep it going?  Mizzou catching another SEC team dealing with injuries...Connor Shaw is out so I just heard.  Going with Dylan Thompson.  He actually is the better passer but needs protection which SC hasnt been good at so far.  Mizzou's backup QB played solid last week... he was a good prospect so Im not surprised.

Texas Tech at OU - Tech's first big game of the year.  Undefeated so far but the schedule picks up now... OU, Okie St, Baylor, and then Texas.  I dont think they make it unscathed.

Stanford at Oregon St - Beavers QB Mannion hasnt gotten much love on this board.  Guy is on a tear.  And has the prototypical physical skills you want in an NFL QB.  Big kid with a big arm.  Theyve played a relatively easy schedule so far... lets see if he can keep up these numbers against better teams.  Ill be interested to see this game.

Penn St at Ohio St - Big game for PSU's freshman QB.  If Bridgewater doesnt work out this kid may be our next target.

NC St at FSU - Can the Noles keep it going.  Ill probably only watch if the score is close.

Tenn at Bama - Same as above... I'll check it out here or there but will only really watch if the game is close

Texas at TCU - Mack Brown could use another win

Louisville at USF - Bridgewater isnt in a spotlight game so maybe he'll play a little better this week

Princeton at Harvard - big game in the Ivy.  Only one loss combined from both teams.  both undefeated in the Ivy.

Quote:If that was true, Ohio State would not be in the top 10. They have been #4 all year, which is proof they do not suck.

They don't suck but every year they claim they're so good and unbeaten. Then they go to the big game and lay an egg. I'm tired of the over hype Ohio State gets. They don't play any worthy out of conference games and the Big 10 is weak as it is for the most part. I dont think they're bad but they are definitely overrated.

I will remind you all of this come bowl season. Never mind that Ohio State currently touts the longest win streak in the country at 19-0, never mind that they would have vyed for the national championship last year, if not for their bowl ban.

Back to back natl championship appearances( in 06-07 )is not common among teams who "suck".

They aren't overrated either, if anything it's the SEC that is overrated.

We aren't getting Hackenberg, he is going to the Patriots once he declares.

Don't worry, after seeing this game against USF, barring unforeseen injury, we will be perennial contenders in the AFC with bridgewater.

Don't you know that is true for many other teams that are consistently ranked in the top 10? You also seem to not understand because California is a Pac-12 team it counts as a worthy OOC game. Looking back at past seasons with perfect records:

2002: Texas Tech

2006: Texas

In addition, Ohio State's first loss in 2005 was to Texas.

About the strength of the Big Ten: If you want to look at history, the same can be said about the Pac-12, Big East, and ACC.

Being one of two undefeated teams last year, they definitely would have met Notre Dame for the national championship last year because Alabama had a loss.

Not only did Ohio State play in two consecutive national championship games, the first time they got there as the #1 team by beating the #2 team (MIchigan).

Help me out here: The Sporting News says the Penn State/Ohio State game is on both ABC and ESPN2. Why doesn't it just say one of those channels? Which channel am I supposed to put the TV on at 8:00?
