2014 College Football Playoff Pairups!

Quote:Thanks for that contribution.

If FSU lost a game you'd all be complaining that they should have been in anyway.

They didn't lose.  If and buts...

You won't go undefeated forever.  If you lose one game next year, you will all be mad that a team like Miss St, Ole Miss, or Auburn will get chosen over you because of SEC bias.  Then you'll see how Strength of schedule matters.

As we got closer to the end of the season, I knew we wouldn't get in with a loss.  SOS works the other way doesn't it?  I mean since we had such a cup cake schedule that is how the crappy Noles were able to sneak in the playoffs, wasn't it?  So doesn't that mean are crappy schedule helped us, not hurt us?

We will find out on January 1st.

As far as hatred for your fan base, I think you've all become pretty obnoxious. Your team had a country behind it last year to beat the almighty SEC and now you've lost that. Do you think I'm making this up? You guys are playing us against the world when less 11 months ago you were loved.
Didn't know being loved by the public was how you won championships...lol

Quote:Every one of those teams ended up being not good. Other than Ok State, FSU squeaked by them. After the Notre Dame I was fooled into thinking Notre Dame was actually a decent team because of how they played FSU. Notre Dame isn't actually a good team, FSU just made them look better than they were. Same for Ok St, same for Florida, and same for way too many of the ACC teams.

Alls I hear from FSU fans is 29-0, unconquered, and all this other stuff. Be realists.....your team is not very good and squeaked by on an easy schedule.

Edit: your last paragraph made my point. If they beat them by 20+ points nobody would be talking, but you didnt. They didnt look very good in any of those games.
Not very good yet were chosen for the playoff...been ranked at the top of the polls...and undefeated for two seasons in a row. Yea they are horrible...smh...let go of the hate sir.

With 5 "power conferences" (who coined that phrase?) and only four slots we're going to see this often. I don't doubt that the Big 12 goes to a championship game, but you still have five into four.

So - how to determine which championship team to leave out? Strength of schedule. It will matter. This year was a fluke, with the Baylor/TCU co-champions a perfect opportunity to get jumped. It won't be that simple in the future.

Cupcakes are going to become embarrassing. Big pay days for the like of Georgia Southern will become fewer and fewer.

That schedule put an undefeated team ranked third behind teams with two losses.  If this same thing happens next year, I would bet its very likely you wouldnt make the playoff.

You post the most obvious things every time you post, and you repeat it over and over.  Let the adults have a mature conversation.

This.  Bobby Bowden basically admitting he was joining a conference because they were easy to beat up on and Jimbo basically doing the same thing (UF did it within the past 5-10 years as well...in fact, they were the leader) will be gone in the next few years.  It will be one or two "preseason" games and then big boys the rest of the way.

You have nothing to contribute to these boards but trolling everytime FSU is mentioned and when you have nothing viable to say in return you try to talk down to the FSU fanbase...as u like to coin so much....what a joke.

If we go undefeated next year we will be in the playoffs again.

Don't be so sure of that.  FSU fatigue is real.

I dont know that I buy that.  At least not based on what we saw this year.  Baylor had by all accounts the weakest non-conference schedule of all D1A teams.  Saw it was ranked 128 out of 128.  And they had a loss in conference.  And were still one spot away from making it.  If they had gone undefeated, they would have made it regardless of a terrible non-conference schedule.  If FSU had one loss, good chance Baylor would have jumped them despite the fact that FSU played 13 games against power teams while Baylor only played 9.  Winning impressively against 9 teams is better than struggling to win even if you play 13 of them.  If Baylor had beaten Kansas St 59-0 while Ohio St had a solid yet unspectacular win over Wisconsin, I wouldnt be surprised if Baylor leapfrogged them as well.  Oregon's non-conference win was much more impressive than Bama's.  Yet Bama is #1 and Oregon is #2.

I've see nothing that suggests you will be penalized harshly for a weaker non-conference schedule.

Figured I'd give this a bump since it's practically recruiting season.

Oh, and FSU just picked up another commit from a 5* defensive end. Josh Sweat chose FSU this morning over VT, UGA, Ohio State, and Oregon. That gives FSU four 5* players, with possibly one or two more on the way.

Didn't he have a bad knee injury this year?

He did. I want to say he dislocated his knee, but I'm not entirely sure. Hopefully he can regain his athleticism though. He's a freak. Ran a 4.46 at The Opening over the summer. Could be our version of Clowney.

I don't follow recruiting as closely but do remember hearing that a few months ago. Hopefully he can recover.

Jimbo has clearly become the second best recruiter in the country after Saban.

UCF has 11 commits so far.  Pretty much all 3 stars.  They grab a lot of the Florida guys once they realize the big 3 over look them.

Pretty good map for Mcelwain:

Quote:Did you see the article I linked with quotes from Bowden when the SEC was trying to get them to join?  It was their choice to join.  There were also rumors the SEC wanted them to join in 2009/2010 as well.

The previous commenter was correct...I do not like FSU this year.  I like Jimbo Fisher and once Jameis is gone I will enjoy watching their football games again.  I think he brings the program down. (please someone respond to this telling me how can he bring the program down when we're 29-0?)
I did see the article. And what does a comment made by Bowden years ago, under a different system, have anything to do with what is going on today?

So again, I ask...what do you mean by

"No, the problem with FSU is that they are(not) in the SEC
