We got better today

I have no idea, but I think we need to see the 'Do your job!' Gus Bradley every once in a while.

Mariota's agent is going to make it clear to Caldwell that he would rather flip burgers at McD's than play for the Jags.

Quote:I'm not sold on Mariota myself.  Hopefully some other team is though so we can trade back and stockpile picks.
Maybe we could get a deal like the Rams got, but with our luck Washington picks before us.

The Jaguars would not draft Mariota with the first pick.

Defense is definitely fixed.

Offense just way too young & inexperienced right now.

There are teams that will, and teams that will trade picks to do so.

We already screwed ourselves out of having the ability to stockpile some much needed picks, all for some meaningless wins that don't matter.

Quote:No need for a sarcasm font, you were unintentionally correct. The Jaguars showed improvement today. If you expected more from this offense against the Ravens defense, especially the pass rush, you were setting yourself up for disappointment.

The Raven's have the 31st ranked pass defense. You are damn right I expected more from this offense. The Jaguars did NOT show improvement. They, again, failed to score in the second half and were completely out-coached. The defense did look better, and has been, but that is completely offset by how BAD the offense is.

People hear "Ravens" and think Super Bowl champions. They aren't remotely close to the same team, but it helps some people cope with just how awful we are.

And that's why the jags suck every year

Wouldn't drafting QB's in the top 5 2 years in a row be a valid reason why we suck?

Quote:All those negatives and the team still came within a score. There's talent there, but the coaching is falling short. Very short.
Counting offense and defense we have 22 starters...please give us the names of those with talent.

I thought Bortles played as well as could be expected, being that he spent most of the game getting up off his back ...

And to the guy that said Henne was better than Bortles... Aaron Rogers threw zero TD's and two INT. today...   Is Henne better than him too?

It could have been worse, Ravens dropped lots of balls over the middle with our Linebackers trailing 3 steps behind. On the positive side I noticed they have male cheerleaders on the Baltimore side, and watching their handclaps it is obvious Gus is every bit their equal. His arm extension, quick pause after the third clap, and then the low five to players coming off the field was tremendous.

Can somebody give me a logical reason that winning on Thursday is a good thing for this franchise? With a win, we essentially hand the tacks Winston or Mariota.

I have a terrible feeling about this.

Exactly!

31st in pass defense.  31st...

And per NFL.com they are 16th in total defense.  That is the definition of mediocre.

Sorry, but you can't say we played well against a great defense.  We played our normal horrible selves against a middle of the road, average defense.

To paint it anyway else is the epitome of self delusion.

This team didn't improve or look better today. Yall are brainwashed into hearing that and just say it without thinking.

Oh yeah, we'll win that game.  There's no doubt in my mind we get that win.  And we'll be drafting 5th or 6th next year.  And all the coaches are coming back for another year as well...

More than likely we'll have another 4-5 win season next year as well.  And Bradley will get one more year, but we'll fire Fish and bring in another weak OC for 2016...  Lather, rinse, repeat.

You give them WAY too much credit Anchorman, they will not get 4-5 wins next year.  We are 3-13 bound, as sickening as that is...

Good God. You just painted a bleak, but probably true picture.
