Steve Smith on Mike & Mike: "you're going to hear some good things about the Jacksonville Jaguars"
|
We should really dismiss it any time a player of Smith's caliber tries to give the Jaguars defense props. What could he possibly know?

Jeez, guys... It was praise. "The national media doesn't talk about us" and then a NFL player talks to the media about us and we cry.
Quote:He was forced to say it. Nah, Gus just offered him some ice cream. Am I doing this right?
Quote:We should really dismiss it any time a player of Smith's caliber tries to give the Jaguars defense props. What could he possibly know? Give it a couple of years for him to retire and join ESPN. I'm sure you'll give him plenty of credit and props at that point, too. Quote:i liken it to giving props to the little sisters of the blind I think he got your hopes up and you are struggling now to cope with reality. We show less advertisements to registered users. It was a nice compliment to a young defense
Quote:https://twitter.com/APMarkLong/status/544859347818663938 I read the article, http://jacksonville.com/opinion/blog/544...ars-effort since I didnt hear it on the radio. I guess we'll have to wait and see next year... we knew the team wasnt going to the playoffs this year but most of us just expected the team to be better and to have like 6 wins at the end of the season. Quote:What the hell does this even mean? ESPN talking heads, particularly former athletes, are regularly mocked for their opinions around these parts (and everywhere else on the internet). Simply pointing out that the luminaries like you on this message board know far more about the NFL than the guys playing, or the coaches coaching, or the GMs making personnel decisions. You must have missed my point. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:Mmmokay. Riiight. Quote:They did a good job shutting down that TE as well, huh?Actually, the defense is playing pretty lights out at the moment. Quote:I think Bridgewater at 3 is better value than Mack at 3, yes.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. Clown.

Quote:From the looks of these posts.... No one can compliment the team or complain about it. I am very neutral as far as this team in concerned. I find no positives nor can I offer criticism. It is what it is. Quote: What a shill.
We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Also on a semi related topic, this was from Gus Bradley's presser yesterday: But the real question is, who got two scoops for effort? That's all that matters to our head coach!
Quote:Actually, the defense is playing pretty lights out at the moment. Can you really use the words "lights out" when we registered 0 sacks? Quote:Can you really use the words "lights out" when we registered 0 sacks?Considering we held a top 5 rushing attack to under 100 yards and one of the top 3 running backs in the league to 48 yards and held their offense to 10 points until they got one more FG in garbage time. If you dont think that is lights out dude learn some football. #fireFicsh
If someone compliments the Jaguars
Optimists:"See. We told y'all were improving!" Pessimists:"He's just saying that to play nice. He didn't mean it!" Someone disses the Jaguars. Optimists:"What does he know? Nobody respects us!" Pessimists:"Even the media sees that we stink!" Do I have this correct?

Quote:Can you really use the words "lights out" when we registered 0 sacks? So, sacks are the only indication the defense is playing well? The fact that the defense has done a pretty good job of keeping teams from racking up ridiculous scores of late is a pretty good sign for most people with a functional football IQ that they're playing well. I guess that explains your struggles. Sacks are probably one of the more overrated stats to lean on, but not surprising that's your benchmark. Never argue with idiots.
