Did Blake Bortles get hurt?

#61

Quote:Honestly the season is shot, he had tons of experince this year & I see no need for him to play tomorrow. They should take him out to heal and maybe play the last week of the season.
If it's not going to cause any further issues, there's no point in benching him tomorrow for the only nationally televised game of the season, especially since the NFL Network has spent the past week promoting it using Bortles. If he's able to play, he should.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Is he able to play at a high level in order to not hinder the Jaguars offense or further risk his injury?

I guess he's okay if he's playing.

Any other QB from this class would've been killed long ago by our OL. Caldwell knew our OL would be turrible and drafted the toughest QB available

He needs to play, so long as he's healthy enough to do so. He's pretty tough already, even at his young age. If he's able to go, I think it would be good for him to experience what it's like to play hurt.

In the future, when this team needs a win, even on a short week after being banged up pretty good the previous Sunday, i think his experience this time around will help.

If he isn't ready from a medical standpoint, then pull him. But if the kid says he can go, and the doctors give their blessing, Blake Bortles needs to play in this game. This is his team now, and people have tried to dub him the next Big Ben, which he is fully aware of. Big Ben plays when he's hurt; lets see if the comparison is close or not on national television.

They wouldn't trot him out there if there was a real risk of doing further damage.

Durability is definitely part of the decision. Teddy, Carr and Mettenberger have all missed games this season due to injury.

Interesting take on it. I think Bortles will be able to play, but not as mobile in the pocket. What he needs to learn about playing hurt is how to compensate for that behind a terrible offensive line. But even if that is a problem, keeping him out would be worse. I know he is a tough guy and will do anything to play tomorrow night.

I beg to differ on not needing a win tomorrow. We need to win because it is nationally televised, at home, and against the Titans.

That is asking too much. Brett Favre holds the NFL record for interceptions.
