Teddy Bridgewater

They have a lot of similarities imo

Ugh what?

I want to watch more Bridgewater.  But to be honest, after last week when Bortles got absolutely demolished on a blindside (coming from the right) hit within 1.5 seconds of the ball being snapped, I realized how important having a big strong QB is.  Bridgewater or Manziel would have been on IR.

Quote:Surely none of this surprises us ?? Before the draft took place every expert was telling us that Bridgewater was the most "pro ready" ie, he would adapt to the NFL quicker than the others. And that is what has happened. The Vikings OLine isn't perfect and will probably be strengthened in the off-season, but it is better (and more experienced) than ours.

Bortles was always known to be a project and when we picked him the idea was not to start him this season. We all knew he wouldn't get results as quickly. And that was always going to be partly down to our thrown-together OLine.

The only surprise is that Carr got his chance so quickly and has done fairly well in an awful team. (And I'm really pleased he has)

This.  We all knew Bortles was going to need some work, and we want to judge all these guys based off one year of work.

Quote:I don't care about the stats. Teddy was put in a much better situation than Carr, not really a surprise his stats are better. With what Carr has done in Oak. is easily more impressive IMO

Most objective folks would be able to see it that way as well.

I don't understand how folks can continue to say Ted was most pro ready, when that hasn't proven itself true on the field.

They all needed to sit a while, with the exception of Carr - which was a surprise.

Bridgewater has 2 TD passes in four of his past five games.

He has a TD pass in nine straight games.

His completion percentage is 63.5%. His last 4 games he's throwing over 70%. [Image: eek.gif]

In 3 of his last 4 games he has a QBRating over 114.

His y/a is a solid 7.0 and much higher over his last 3.

First 5 games: 71.3 QBRating

Last 6 games: 91.8 QBRating

Geno Smith had a string of nice games also his rookie year.  I think Teddy is doing decent.  I would say Alex Smith is Teddy ceiling, but we shall see.

Lol at all the Teddy hate. Pirkster, weren't you the one who thought Teddy was going to fail in the pros as hard as Ponder did?

Maybe that bad pro day was a blessing in disguise after all.

Teddy has been the best QB thus far, especially recently. I would feel a lot better with him moving forward with Bortles, but Blake still has time to get things corrected.
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

teddy with 68% completion today, that mkes 6 weeks in a row

the best rookie qb this year, would be amazing if he actually had a offensive coordinator that wasnt super conservative

bortles in my opinion has the best upside of the bunch, manziel might get cut, and derek carr  has tailed off in recent weeks

How much upside does Teddy B have?

He did have a pretty good rookie season.

I wonder how he would have done here, had he played with the same team BB had to play with?

Just a thought.

i don't think Aaron Rodgers could have made this team any better.

I just wanted to chime in regards to Bridgewater. You guys have to keep in mind that we have had a revolving O line (2 to 3 starters have been out) this year and Teddy got beat up because of their turn-style play. Teddy acknowledged this, started stepping up in the pocket when the line collapsed and got rid of the ball quickly. Also, we did not have Adrian Peterson all year minus 1 game and we settled with Asiata who gives you atleast 2-3 yards a carry and the rookie Mckinnon who got injured earlier this year. Couple that with the fact that we have no true #1 receiver and our best TE Kyle Rudolph has been injured most of the year. We benched our #1 pick, Patterson in favor of a practice squad player in Charles Johnson so Teddy has been carrying this offense himself.

Long story short, I was caught up in the Manziel hype but I am glad that we were able to snatch Teddy. Its good to know that we have our quarterback of the future and we can build this team around him. He has had an amazing rookie season and below are some amazing stats. I got this from: http://rubechat.kfan.com/viewforum.php?f=11&start=30

not gonna lie im suprised by his accuracy

This season he's played slightly better than Blake Bortles but none of the rookie QBs seemed that impressive this season.
