McElwain basically hiring an extension of himself.

Interesting job history. Unfortunately it is hard to get excited about a coach whose last quarterback was terrible.

The "meier" part makes me think of a former Jaguar.

Not sure if it is pronounced that way though - might be MAC-el-wain.

That is still putting the accent on the second syllable. I want to know if the accent should be on the first syllable in the name McElwain.

If he's as good as the sausage breakfast burritos, UF has a bright future.

I'm curious why he left Alabama as an OC to leave for Michigan.  Anyone know why he left Bama?  ( I will start googling )

I think Saban basically forced him out

I don't know if thats really the case here.  Seems weird though.  I'd imagine Saban would be a tough guy to work for after a while.

He could have been looking to prove himself at Michigan so that bigger head coaching jobs would come calling.  It doesn't seem like it was because of what Bama's offense was doing, or not doing.

no it isnt.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Nuss rarely made adjustments when the team needed them and was awful at situational football(3rd/4th down in the Iron Bowl last year and most of the Sugar Bowl as prime examples). Saban pretty much told him to look for another job from what I've heard(could be wrong too, obviously) and Hoke offered it to him.

Make no mistake about it though: That offense is going to be run through McElwain, not Nuss. Gator fans have nothing to fear from this.
