Fargin is certainly greatly missed.   His common sense and input on Political Discussions is something that I wish many of the relatively newer members would have seen.

Dav is greatly missed.  In addition to Dav being a great person,  he was amongst the best competition I ever faced in Fantasy Sports Contests.   When you won a competition with Dav involved,  it was that much more rewarding! 

 

While JagsAmore hasn't been on this MB in a long time,  a case can be made that she has had as much impact on the current MB as anyone.   She's the person who originally brought me and a number of other long time members of the MB to the MB.   A great person who brought tremendous insight and humor to the MB!

 I was very concerned when Sammy wasn't on the MB for a few months and like you and so many others was greatly relieved when he posted again. 

 

My recommendation is that the Mods should set up a private discussion regarding a poster that hasn't been on the MB for a while...... if someone mentions their concern about the poster.  It's realistically possible that one or more of the Mods would know if the poster is ok or would have contact info about the poster away from the MB.   Or they could send PM's to other posters that might know how to contact that person.   The more input,  the greater the chance of finding out if someone is ok.

Yeah, i agree.  While this is just a football forum, which to me and probably most, it's not a big deal.  People are real and so are relationships.  Sometimes it's the little things in life, you never know.

I think that would be a great idea. A mod or admin can have access to another user's personal info, and check on them by either email, cell, or the household number. Like Jags32250 said. This might just be an online MB, but honestly, I've talked with and been around so many people on here for such a long time that it can almost be counted like a real personal relationship.

 

 

 

It's disrespectful when people like Dav and Fargin are the only ones remembered, and other people on here who have died are totally forgotten. It's like remembering Stonewall Jackson for his death in the Civil War, and totally forgetting about the other 600,000+ Americans who died on both sides. It's just not right.

Skeeter moved out of Jax to either Middleburg or Green Cove Springs or somewhere like that, and pretty much withdrew from the active fan base.  I haven't heard from him in several years.

Yeah,I tailgated with him and his gang several times in the early 2000s. And that gang included some other posters from here. Dave, who owned jagmania, Boop, who worked there. Charlie, who you see on TV all of the time. Arrowman would stop by. Ormandbchfan was there, as well. Good people. I had a lot of fun, and was always grateful for their invite.

Yeah, he certainly had his opinions.


Training camp has never been the same since his passing. He was a great seat mate at the sessions serving as buffer and the occasional spotter.


You mentioned that Amore brought quite a few to this board. She regularly apologized for my presence here.

Mr. Amore is always good dinner company. D6s visit was one of the great experiences of meeting those from the board out here in the real world. I've always thought of him as the kind of person many here should aspire towards.


I'll be hanging out with Barb's husband on Saturday as we plan to do a little 2 wheeled therapy tomorrow. I'll let him know he left an impression.


its funny to be at something like training camp and have a complete stranger walk up and give you a quizzical look as they sit down and then ask you if you're from the board. I've met many a board member that way over the years.
