My Beef With Leonard Williams

#61

Quote:Manziel played with a hurt thumb the last two games which clearly affected his throws downfield. The LSU game had horrible wr play in which they were dropping balls and running wrong routes he also ran a lot more in the last two games. In the Missouri game you could tell they adjusted the gameplan to quick throws which the defense picked apart. Saying all that I rank manziel barely ahead of teddy and both of them way ahead bortles. But what I really think is the jaguars draft neither because if you look at the last draft class Caldwell does not draft injury prone players even though both these players played through their injuries and showed toughness.

Quote:To bad it's my opinion and not your huh. I'll let you know when I do my favorite prospects for this year draft we'll see how you do last year I had

Quote:My two overrated guys in the likely first round are...

LB/DE Anthony Barr- I watched this guy get pushed all over the field once an OL locked onto him. He's a one-trick pony that is currently very raw....upside is there but he is a risk.

WR Kelvin Benjamin- Although he'll be a big red zone threat, I think he'll have problems gaining any separation in the NFL.

Quote:I agree with both of these also Barr is the most overrated of all prospects

anthony barr, up until his injury was playing really well and receiving great reviews from everywhere.

and kelvin benjamin was a one man wrecking crew for carolina this year, even with cam struggling and no one taking the focus off him.

you also talked about how dee ford is terrible and as soon as he saw some actual playing time this past week because of the injury ahead of him, he came right in and disrupted the qb. another brilliant call by you.

youre also really good with qbs. ej manuel has been an absolute gem and manziel looks phenomenal too.

i guess youre right, credit should be given where credit is due. you just know way more than everyone else. hit the nail on the head, buddy.

I had ej Manuel because he was the best out of that weak qb group and later doubted Manziel due to inability to manipulate the pocket but that D is solid no credit there and we'll see how Barr and Benjamin plan out

Oh and randy Gregory is just as bad as ray but with more potential they'll be huge busts but let me tell you Melvin Gordon will be amazing

barr and benjamin are arguably 2 of the best players out of any of those listed besides maybe ansah. mathieu has performed well too. and 2 of the biggest busts were 2 of the guys you were high on. so i think ill maybe not etch your opinion on ray in stone.

I wouldn't have picked a qb from that class if I wasn't building a team with draft picks I said he was the best of that weak group

We get neither in the perfect scenario. The tacks think they are set at QB and go elsewhere then someone who wants one of the QBs trades up and we grab a solid Oline man and acquire another 2nd round pick.

a good player should always find a spot on your defense (or offense), regardless of what scheme you run.

If a player like Leonard Williams doesn't "fit" your defense, then you're running a [BLEEP] defense.

i wouldnt say that, but i get what youre trying to say. leonard williams is too good to pass on. you find ways to make him work.

I just think you're always better off having more of a "base" defense that multiple players can play.  Find good players and your defense will become very good.

A defensive lineman that's 6'5 and 300 lbs like Williams should be sought-after in any defense.  If he doesn't "fit"... then you're doing something wrong IMO.

well at that point you change it to make it work. you dont take a lesser player because he fits better.

you take the talent that is leonard williams and make your defense work for him as opposed to what the texans tried to do with clowney, tried to make him work for the defense.

Anybody that says Williams doesnt fit our defense is a moron, the 5 tech doesnt have to be as big as Red Bryant, he just has to be able to stop the run, Williams add that and can rush the passer, which makes him a perfect fit.

Move him inside and outside on both ends in different situations
