Right tackles

My #1 offensive lineman is La'el Collins. I feel his value is around #10 to #15 overall.

Quote:My #1 offensive lineman is La'el Collins. I feel his value is around #10 to #15 overall. I don't get the fascination with Collins. He uses his body to block. He looks lost at the second level, often never blocking anyone, or just touching someone. He gets turned around in pass protection by fast rushers. He holds all the time. When I see him turning his guy around, there's a pretty good chance that he grabbed a jersey and turned the defender. Often times, he'll straight up wrap arms around someone. When a blitz on the outside comes in, and the guard is occupied, he struggles picking a defender to engage. I never seen him lose his battles in the running game, so I think he'd be fine at guard if you limit how much space to give him. He'll probably go in the 1st round but I wouldn't touch him until the 2nd.

I like Daryl Williams - ORT - Oklahoma in Rd 3
I like Denzel Perryman - ILB - Miami in Rd 2 I like Leonard Williams - DE - USC in Rd 1.

Quote:My #1 offensive lineman is La'el Collins. I feel his value is around #10 to #15 overall. In other words he is not good enough for our pick number, which will probably be three again. Quote:I like Daryl Williams - ORT - Oklahoma in Rd 3 Do you like Daryl Williams better than teammate Tyrus Thompson? I have not watched them play. I was just wondering if that was the case and if so, why.
3rd round (or late second in a trade-down scenario) - Jake Fisher - Oregon
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/playe...ake-fisher Chris Burke - SI.com: Quote:Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon
Daryl Williams is the higher rated OT over his teammate Tyrus Thompson who mans the OLT spot for the Sooners.
Both are probably best suited to play ORT in the NFL. Williams is meaner in the run game and is well suited to handle the bull rush DE that is typically placed opposite the ORT. There are many fans of both OTs and both will be drafted before the end of Rd 4 and perhaps before the end of Rd 3. The other prospect that could suit the Jags at ORT is Corey Robinson - the OLT for South Carolina. Robinson is strictly an ORT, but I worry about any player who weighs in at 350 Lbs, even if he is 6'7" tall. These three, Daryl Williams, Corey Robinson and Tyrus Thompson will all be draft between the middle of Rd 3 and the middle of Rd 4. I just happen to favor Daryl Williams of these three, but would be an upgrade over Pasztor and a whole lot cheaper than a Free Agent signing The Jags Offensive line has to grow together as a unit and if more talent is infused into this unit, I think the Jags will have a fine Oline. Jake Fisher is an undersized OLT whose strength is quick pass rushers. Fisher does not have the sand in his pants to handle J.J. Watt, not that many OTs can.
What we need to remember is that the Bucs will be looking at OTs at the top of Rd 3. I think that the Bucs will go RB in Rd 2 as may the Titans.

If the Buccaneers want to wait until Round 3 to pick an offensive tackle, they might regret it later because we can get ours in Round 2. The Titans picked a running back this year. Why would they want to use the #33 pick on another one?
I am not all that convinced that the Jags will target an ORT with their Rd 2 pick. I think the Jags will target a LBer in Rd 2, either Denzel Perryman or Eric Kendricks.
If the kid out of Miss St. falls, he would have to be considered as well. The fanbase thinks that an ORT is a big deal but most teams don't spend much more than a Rd 3 pick on an ORT. Heck the Jags are kinda of happy playing an undrafted Street Free Agent in Pasztor. Make no mistake about it, the Jags like Pasztor at ORT. I think they will draft an ORT in Rd 3, because three of them can be had in that Rd (Daryl Williams, Tyrus Thompson and Corey Robinson). All three would be upgrades over Pasztor but he still will be kept as a backup.
I don't think anybody is saying Austin Pasztor should be cut. We just know if a much better right tackle is out there, he should not be starting.

Quote:I don't think anybody is saying Austin Pasztor should be cut. We just know if a much better right tackle is out there, he should not be starting. True. Although if an upgrade is found at RT, he may find himself on the roster bubble, and may lose out to a more versatile swing tackle. Tough to carve out a spot on a roster as a backup to only one non-premium position on the OL.
I actually think that Pasztor could move inside and play ORG or even Center. Pasztor has great pass blocking skills. The problem comes when you are 6'7' and 308 Lbs, which is a little light in the pants for a man that size. Great feet for pass blocking but no real means to handle the Power Bull Rush and certainly he does not knock people off the ball in run blocking.
Pasztor can be upgraded but his replacement is not as high a priority as people on this board seem to think it is.

We need to keep them where they are. Right tackle is a high priority because Blake Bortles will finish this season as the most-sacked quarterback despite having the ability to run away from trouble. Pasztor being able to man either the ORT or ORG position would probably guarantee him another year on the roster whether as a backup or as a starter.
Coaches like him and they are the ones who makes the call on who starts and who sits.

The Jags liked Paszstor this time last year. This year he's proven to be ineffective and injury prone. He ruptured his hamstrings. Recovery wise, that's almost worse than an ACL reconstruction because of how much strength he will lose. RT is a major area of need.

And... he does not have "great feet for pass blocking." I remember Boselli and Lageman specifically kind of laughing about how he doesn't have good feet but he makes up for his lack of athleticism with toughness and "playing hard."
