I would love to have him as DC, but he will get a network job making a ton of money.

I started a coach/GM change tracker thread, but my opinion about this is it happened too late. Should have been done as soon as John Idzik got the GM job.

im not so sure. i think rex genuinely likes the challenge of coaching a defense. i wouldnt be surprised to see him pass up extra cash to get back to his roots.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

One thing I'm confident about is Rex Ryan will have multiple options of very well paying jobs,  regardless if he gets another HC opportunity in 2015.

I am sure he will be wanted as a head coach somewhere, but think he is better suited as a defensive coordinator. His inability to manage the offense is why the Jets suck.

I agree that Rex Ryan is better suited as a Defensive Coordinator.

While Ryan didn't manage the Jets Offense well far too often,  IMO an even bigger problem with the Jets has been their ownership and Front Office.

Yeah, John Idzik was not the right guy for the job. The only reason the Jets hired him is David Caldwell chose Jacksonville.

The Falcons and 49ers are planning on interviewing Rex Ryan next week for their HC openings.   It wouldn't surprise me if the Bears and/ or Raiders also interview Ryan for their HC openings:

Also,  other candidates also turned the Jets down in 2012.   At the time,  they had a nightmarish salary cap situation.   That's no longer the case.   Whether a highly regarded GM candidate is comfortable working under Woody Johnson is another question.

I think he already has a TV agent and something in the works.  He gets paid this year no matter what, so he cant hold out a year doing TV waiting to see if he gets another HC offer...

If not he might stay in TV if he likes it or take a DC job... who knows

I wonder if the Jets will hire Marty Schottenheimer, Mike Shanahan or another veteran HC or go in a different direction?
