I guess I'll eat some crow on this one.  Still don't think it should have happened though.  Now all the rookies have to go through the same crap all over again learning a whole new offense.  And whatever new OC may not want to sign off on Bortles.

I'm surprised but pleased at this move.

I've been saying for a while now that all the evidence points to Fisch being unable to coach NFL offense.

Every QB we've seen under him has regressed.

Gabbert was significantly worse under Fisch. Henne looked like Gabbert, and Bortles has regressed, too.

Makes sense. They need to do whatever it takes to make sure bortles is developed correctly. This news cheered me up!

It's necessary if Fisch was partially the reason that our offense was being held back and the next person that they have in mind is an upgrade.  If they are just firing him as a scapegoat then I agree it's bad, but that doesn't seem like the case.

Imagine you're learning to do addition. Your one teacher keeps telling you to do it one way but it doesn't work.

Then you get a new teacher who actually teaches you the correct way and you finally get it.

Change isn't bad in this case and I actually think our offense will improve.

Only a year too late but I'm glad the team made the move. I wish Fisch the best in whatever he chooses to do next. I think he's probably best served to either go back to college or take a step down at the pro level to gain experience with the pro game then give it another go in the future.

It had to happen. When you're picking top 5 in the draft for the second time in a row someone HAS to go.

Just like with Gene Smith... and they always end up looking....

Hate to take joy in another persons loss, but this made my day.

I guess all the edge running with slow Toby wore thin.

From hearing Gus talk, it is obvious that the "philosophical difference" was the size of the playbook Fisch threw at Bortles.   Gus wanted smaller steps, and steady growth, Fisch wanted to throw the whole playbook at him and see how much he can absorb.   And in Gus' mind, that is what led to the lack of execution and lack of precision.

New OC will pull a Tampa Bay on us. Bench the 2nd year guy and bring in a career backup that fits his system

Koetter took the Falcons from playoff contender to getting head coach fired. No thanks
