Jedd Fisch Fired!

I'm somewhat surprised that he was the first to go but I saw the writing on the wall from Caldwell after he hinted that he wasn't happy with the offense this year in today's press conference. Caldwell and Gus might have had a conversation such as "its either him or you". Not a hard decision if I were standing in Gus shoes. Now how much does this affect the remaining offensive staff: QBs coach, WRs coach, TEs coach, RBs coach and O-Line coaches? The next OC hiring will be critical to Gus Bradley's tenure as a HC here and Bortles development.

And how long do we have to wait until Mallory gets the boot? (who should have been the first firing).

Im a bit late to this but wow, shocked. I do hate the idea of making Blake and the young guys learn something new again but Fisch just didnt get anything done and I did want him gone but im still shocked it actually happened.

If the report is true that he was belittling Blake, I think it was a good call. It's not good to do that to a young guy whos your franchise.

I'm surprised but not disappointed by the move. Provided we get someone in here soon who can take full advantage of our talent (people keep mentioning Trestman) I think it will pay off in the long run.

I really don't care that they have to learn something new. Might as well have them learn the right way to do something now when they're young instead of in their 4th year or something.

And if it's truly done well, it can make a world of difference. Lazor in Miami, McCoy in SD and Trestmans first year in Chicago. Changing offensive philosophies and making them work.

Fisch always seemed like a snake to me, not to mention being what 32nd all year long for two years. Glad he's gone.

And if he was belittling Blake, good riddance.

I agree with the bolded however I'm not sure how true that report is, being that this is the first time we've heard something like this all season.

I'm not sold at all on Trestman. Chicago just fired him and his offensive coordinator and kept the remaining staff on the team. That tells me they pinpointed their shortcomings on those two people this year.

I would be happy with Trestman, Roman, or Weis.  But Trestman's resume speaks for itself.

They fired Trestman and the OC because they can't fire Cutler.  The GM, who signed Cutler to this long term deal, is desperate to find someone who can bail him out by turning Cutler's performance around.

The entire offense regressed under Trestman in his second year. From the QB to the WRs to the RBs and O-Line.

Sometimes guys aren't meant to be head coaches.

Sometimes guys make great coordinators, but not head coaches.  Buddy Ryan and Norv Turner are two examples.

That may have been the case in Chicago with Trestman

He has had a lot of success as a coordinator.

I think he could do well here.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

But the GM got canned, too.

Cutler is a head case and hard headed.  Which is why Denver gave him the boot.   McCown and Clausen did just fine under him.   I don't see Bortles as the head case Cutler is

Fisch should have been gone last season before he got a chance to ruin any QB prospect, though Mallory can get the boot, Fisch definately should've been gone first.

What about Marshall (no pun intended), Jeffrey, and Forte? What about the offensive line?
