Bortles is Garbage!

On the bright side, he had the 11th best completion % of all those rookies...  Considering who is OC is/was and the O-line issues, I'd say there is still hope for the guy.  He needs better coaching and a better O-line, though...

Bottom line is, he ain't figuring all this stuff out on his own.  And from the looks of it, his current coaches aren't very helpful in getting players better or in the best position to be their best.

Quote:If we're going to blame the QB for the 4th down play let's be sure to blame Shorts who had the ball go right through his hands for the win on 1st down.
Its almost as if balls going through people's hands is a routine problem that the QB and OC can't get past.

No one on this team has had good hands in years, if I was a millionaire I swear to god I would roll up a bunch of the football throwing machines to the practice field one night with the name of a WR/TE on each one and a video of all the dropped passes this year playing on a loop.

Worse than Vince Young, Geno Smith, Mark Sanchez, Joey Harrington, Blaine Gabbert, Christian Ponder, Brandon Weeden, and even Derek Carr in passing TDs.  Mercy.

Worst team in franchise history.

Funny how so many people on this board back in the summer were saying we can win 7-8 games with Henne starting all year once it was declared BB was sitting for the year. Many said he's good enough to succeed with all these WR and OL and RB rookies we were starting.

I wonder how many of these people who say there was no way the team could be successful with so many young players predicted the team to go 3-13.

I'll admit, I didn't think it would be this bad,, mostly because I believed the defense would be greatly improved. Boy, was I wrong about that side too.

I predicted we wouldn't win more than 4 games. Blind optimism set in amongst most fans.

The kid has one year. The kid we are talking about didn't get proper training in his HS or College days. Hint the reason why his footwork is so bad. He needs to keep going at his fundamentals and mechanics over and over and over again and get his muscles used to where he needs to set his foot and he will be alright.

I don't know if he will be great.  He is tough and comes alive at crunch time.  I don't know if he will be that big time franchise Qb but I hope so

Well, that bit right there in addition to working like an insane person to perfect your craft are pretty good places to start on the road to greatness. If only we could trick his mind into thinking we're always down by 4 with 2 minutes left to go. Wink

And, now, the OC is fired because his offense was too complicated for Mr. Bortles.  Doesn't portend well . . . .

Is that what was said? It seems as though (a lack of) half-time adjustments, not utilizing the hurry-up offense (Bortles's strength), and being unproductive had more to do with it.

Exactly. What a bonehead comment. Geesh

I predicted 7 or 8 wins.  I was also counting on the OL playing a lot better and was disappointed there.  I figured if Bortles did play, he'd play about how he did.

I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

I believe rameyag is one of the longest running complainers on this board

Yes, I'm such a complainer: "Bradley felt Fisch was overloading Bortles with too much of the offense at one time and would have instead preferred an approach in which Bortles was given measured doses and had the package expanded only as he grew comfortable with the offense." http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/120980...jedd-fisch

At least you admit it

This is true; but with the firing of fisch, now he won't be able to concentrate as much on mechanics and will have to learn a new system.

I y'ams who I y'ams and thats all I y'ams...
