The only way Henne is gone is if a better veteran option presents itself to the team. If they can upgrade the position I'm sure they will. That's always been the case.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Cut Henne....

Re-sign Dan LeFevour

I saw Jim Harbaugh throwing the ball around before his teams game.

I wonder if he would consider taking Henne's place.

I like his intensity and he was in between jobs for a few minutes.

So much worry about our BACK-UP QB, lol, wouldn't it stand to reason that we just fired our incompetent OC, who was the whole reason we struggled according to most, that if our starting QB had issues wouldn't his back who is by definition less talented, so then if we get better at OC wouldn't all positions get better

Henne should go now. If he doesn't want to really play anymore he can be on the practice squad or something. Bring in Sanchez or Hoyer to backup Bortles and bring in Trestman and David Fales to back up Hoyer/Sanchez.

I don't think Hoyer and Sanchez hit the market, and they aren't feasible options imo.

Quote:I disagree.  I am not saying teams are screaming to sign Chad Henne as their starting QB, but he's an okay game manager backup QB.  He didnt turn the ball over that much because he didnt take a lot of chances thus never getting a first down didnt help out the defense which caused blowouts.  True, but the offensive line still stunk as it does today, and he had no running game thanks to slowby.  He had all rookie injured wrs like blake had, and that is why he didnt look as good as Kirk Cousins, or Mark Sanchez, or other backups in the NFL.

If Henne was any kind of NFL QB, BB5 would'nt have been thrust into play...

As long as he isnt starting I don't really care, I doubt they sign Bouman, don't want Bortles looking over his shoulder.

Quote:He needs to go,  Mark Sanchez could be a could back up IMO.  Brian Hoyer or even Colt McCoy.  They would all be upgrades over Henne
I doubt Brian Hoyer would come here to be a backup. He knows the competition is weaker in Cleveland.

Henne has proven he doesn't care with his performance the first three games last year.

The guy doesn't care. It's time to move on.

Bingo the last thing we need is to cut a veteran without a replacement. That's how we end up with rookies backing up 2nd year guys a recipe for disaster.

He'll probably be here this year then walk in FA.

Everyone on the team seems to like Chad. No point in throwing him away for the sake of getting guys that are in the same league he's in.

Not entirely true. Henne is not a very good NFL QB, I'll give you that. But,, no way was he going to succeed with an entire offense full of rookies and 2nd year guys,, no running game,, and receivers that didn't know half their routes or how to adjust on hot reads.

Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers would've all struggled mightily the first couple games.

Yeah, I think by the end of the year it was starting to become apparent that the biggest problem with our offense was Fisch. I mean BB5 started playing exactly like Henne did to start the season, at the end of the season. Henne is not good, but they were clearly told to play ball control short passes.
