5 LBers That Will Shape Rd 1 and 2 of the 2015 Draft
|
If you have been paying any attention at all to the 2015 NFL Draft, you can't help but notice that this is s deep class for RB and OT, but there is another position that is emerging out of the shadows that has the possibility of impacting the later half of Rd 1 and the top half of Rd 2. This emerging position is LB, with as many as 5 LBs potentially being taken in the top 50 draft selections. Most of us are aware of
1. Bernardrick McKinney - ILB - Mississippi State - 6'4" 249 Lbs 2. Denzel Perryman - ILB - Miami - 5'11" 242 Lbs 3. Eric Kendrick - ILB - UCLA - 6'0" 230 Lbs but out of the post bowl game experience, two more prospects are beginning to elevate their draft positions. One is 4. Paul Dawson - ILB - TCU - 6'2" 230 who showed the nation that he is the total package in both run defense and dropping back in coverage. Prior to this week, Dawson has been overlooked as a mid round selection, but, now there is talk that he may rise to the top of Rd 2 and could find himself taken in the later part of Rd 1, jumping ahead of the three players listed above. He is not listed on the Senior Bowl roster but that may change in the next week. The other is a Jr from Alabama 5. Reggie Ragland - ILB - Alabama - 6'2" 254 Lbs He had to wait for C.J. Moseley to graduate last year, but since he has been introduced into the Alabama lineup, the Alabama defense has not missed a beat. Ragland has not declared for the draft, but did ask for an evaluation and it is suspected that he got a 1st or 2nd round grade. How does this impact the Jags, you may ask? Well there is a very good chance that one of these five players will be the Jags Rd 2 selection. Right now it would not surprise me in the least if the selection is Paul Dawson of TCU, but time will tell. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
While I want the LB corps to be upgraded with fresh talent, I'm thinking that the team would be better served if they spent their top two picks in other areas.
Also, I feel that Erik Striker would be a nice addition to the roster in the later rounds.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

"Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot."
I only want two people in the 1st round that's either Leonard Williams or Shaq Thompson. Don't know how the best linebacker in the draft isn't recognized. Him and Telvin Smith would be love on this team. They would compensate for the turtle that is the Poz.

After watching Eric Kendrick last night fly all over the field in coverage as well as stuff the run, I kinda like him as the Jags Rd 2 selection if the Jags don't take a Rb at the spot.

I think he would be a great second round pick. Seems like an ideal fit on this defense

Dawson won't fall far. Did you see his bowl performance? He's a lock in rounds 2-3. Great 40 puts him in 1.
I really think Paul Dawson is going to be the big riser up the draft boards.
While the guy is an All-American and a Senior, the Senior Bowl did not issue an invitation. In the end, I think he is drafted in the middle of Rd 2. We show less advertisements to registered users.
