Oregon v Ohio State

I expect the Ducks to be a heavy favorite. People love to underrate Cardale Jones just because he was the third string quarterback in August and only played in garbage time before the MIchigan game.
MissCluelessFanatic,

My 3tpower analysis is an alogrithim that takes into account statistics through out the year and simulates the game over and over and over. It has the Bucks beating the ducks 68.9% of the time.

It has been right more times than not this year.

Of course I am. Before both the BTCG and Sugar Bowl, it seemed like the only thing people said about Cardale Jones was he is a third string quarterback, so nobody knows how well he can perform against a great team. It was like nobody had any idea how good the rest of Ohio State's offense is because I never heard or read anything about the offensive line, Ezekiel Elliott, or Devin Smith. As long as people don't talk about anybody except the "third string quarterback" who actually was #2 all season, Ohio State will be underrated.

Unfortunately this board does not have enough of them so I have to argue with men.

I think the play were you hurt the other teams qb is the best defensive play in football

Oregon doesnt have a great defense.  If FSU didnt start turning the ball over, Im not sure Oregon would have really been able to stop them.  Will Ohio St turn the ball over as frequently as FSU did?  Probably not.  Oregon's defense will have to be a little tighter if not forcing turnovers.

Even though Ohio St won, I'm still having a hard time believing they are a great team.  Bama was up 21-6 and looked like they were about to roll over the Buckeyes.  But somehow the tide turned, no pun intended, and Bama's defense broke a few times.  And like I said in the game thread, Bama needed Blake Sims to win the game, and he lost it.  The pick 6 was a killer.  And he just couldnt move the ball in the 2nd half.  He made too many mistakes.  The guy is just a game manager.  If Bama has a better QB.. heck if they had McCarron, they probably win the game.

Well Mariotta isnt a game manager.  Dude is a winner.  Take away the QBs and I dont think Oregon is better than Alabama.  But having the great QB trumps everything.  I'll be surprised if Ohio St can slow the Ducks down the way they stopped Sims.  As far as Oregon's defense, I'd make that kid Jones beat you throwing the ball.  Put pressure on him.  Make him throw with defenders all around him.  Too many times Bama let him hang in the pocket and make throws.  Always pressure young inexperienced QBs.  Always.

I'm interested in what monstrosity that Nike is going to strut the ducks out in for the big game! It will either be awesome or hideous...with no in between!!

Impossible. A quarterback can be injured by a late hit or helmet collision, which only helps the offense, or on a scoring play. Knocking the quarterback out does absolutely no good in that situation.

I liked their Rose Bowl uniforms except I would have preferred a yellow face mask. They should wear those again.

The last time Oregon played against Ohio State, the Ducks had gray numbers. I thought that was stupid because the school has only two colors, green and yellow.

All don't get so hyped on OSU because they beat Alabama. Look at Alabama schedule. They played terrible on the road which was rare. Allowed 44 points and 630 yards to Auburn even at home. Extremely over-rated like my team.

This was a classic game to bet on and win money if you bet. I think Oregon will smoke OSU though.

FSU is who I could not figure out. They barely beat everyone and started to remind me of the Auburn championship team of 2010 that had a player that would not let them lose.It was a good run for FSU. There schedule is really good next year for them if they can find a QB

Yeah, some of their combos have been really bad!

FSU was overrated all season. People did not care about the fact that they almost lost to several unranked teams. They only cared about the fact that FSU was undefeated.

But the same people said Ohio State is overrated because the Big Ten is a weak conference. Isn't the ACC weak too? If Florida State is a top five team because of its record, so is Ohio State, because conference affiliation is irrelevant.

Take your pick. Either neither school is overrated or both of them are.

Oregon could be complacent after walking all over FSU and OSU could be wiped out after a draining win against Ala. Who knows.

Personally, I feel OSU is gonna get thrashed. Orgeon has the speed and then some to hang with OSU's offense and I really don't think the buckeye's D can hang with the DUcks.

Knocking out a qb in the first 5 minutes would be better than him throwing for 5 TDs and 1 pick six.  C'mon....
