Mayor Bill de Blasio

Who's claiming to be an expert on NYC politics? I'm saying I don't see how the guy can win a re-election he's getting blasted all over the place. Frankly I don't care if NYC keeps him or votes him out I just find it amusing.

Quote: The reason for the high cost of living in NYC is simply supply and demand. People want to live there. So much so that residential real estate in Manhattan is selling at record levels. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/06/nyregi...click&_r=0 So, when you say, "oh New York City is such a terrible place, blah blah blah" you have no clue what you are talking about.
Quote:The reason for the high cost of living in NYC is simply supply and demand. People want to live there. So much so that residential real estate in Manhattan is selling at record levels.I never said NYC was a terrible place to live in. I only mentioned the current situation there between the protesters, De Blassio, and the police. Don't try and gas-light me. Quote:The reason for the high cost of living in NYC is simply supply and demand. People want to live there. So much so that residential real estate in Manhattan is selling at record levels. While true about parts of NYC hasn't the state of New York seen a massive loss in population as of late? I know Florida passed them recently. I know when I talk to people from New York they always mention the high cost of living and taxes as major factors for leaving. We show less advertisements to registered users. No. FL passed NY because FL is increasing in population faster, but NY is increasing in population, too. Quote:No. So was it just a reduction in the growth rate?
Quote:So was it just a reduction in the growth rate? Well, NYs growth rate over the last four years was higher than the four years preceding that, so I don't know that it was a reduction of growth rate so much as continuation of a long term trend. edit: to add, low education high immigration areas tend to have higher birth rates and higher population growth. Really this sort of thing is the normal result of ongoing trends in the USA for quite a long time. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
The irony about all of the arguments in this topic (including my own I'll admit) is that not a single New Yorker past or present has decided to join in and post on this topic.
I'm guessing it's a race to see who can get NYC4Jags to agree with their viewpoint/s lol.
Quote:So do you live in NYC, or are you just speaking out of your rear end? Must you live there to speak on the topic?
Quote:Also, am I not allowed to talk about something because I don't live there? If that's the case then Oklahomer shouldn't post on anything since he doesn't live on planet Earth. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
Quote:If that's the case then Oklahomer shouldn't post on anything since he doesn't live on planet Earth. This is probably the best insult/comeback that I've ever read on here. This is a nominee for post of the year lol. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! |
