It's not indicative of the entire conference to use 7 national championships as a measure of conference greatness from top to bottom. If that's the case, then every time Kentucky wins a basketball national championship the same criteria must be used to claim the SEC as best basketball conference. And I'm an SEC school engineering graduate. It only validates one team as being the best in the country.

Agree 100%. Just because FSU was the National Champion last season doesn't mean the ACC was stronger than the SEC.

In fact the ACC is the weakest of the Power Five conferences. Look at how long it took FSU to clinch the division title - not nearly as long as it took Wisconsin. If strength of schedule was very important, FSU would never be a playoff contender.

 

As for the SEC, it is not just who won national championships, but also who played in the NCG, that makes people overrate the conference. The last two times FSU won the national championshp, the losing teams were Tennessee and Auburn.
