Unfortunately we won our completely meaningless TNF game against the Titans, so instead of us getting what looks like hands down the best player in the draft (non QB at least) our division rivals are probably going to get him. 

 

That haunted us three years ago when our meaningless win late in the season vs the Colts has us facing Luck for the next decade, and it's likely going to do it again. 

I think there's a good chance they take Winston, I know it's still very early in the process but that's my gut feeling. Not buying that they're sold on Mettenberger as their future.

 

To be honest, I'd rather them take Williams or trade down with a team like the Jets rather than them get Winston.

Most likely we will not want the same player they do. PIcking after them can only hurt us if they want a player we can't afford to miss out on. Obviously that can't happen if they don't have all the same position needs we do.

I'm kinda weary about him. Watch the Utah game. He basically got man handled all game and when he got double teamed it didn't look like he was really trying.

what about the ND game when he went up against a NFL caliber OT in Stanley. Not much there either, not saying he won't be good be he definitely isn't far and away the best prospect in this class. I would put him under Suh, McCoy, and Darius as a prospect

I"m just going on the film they have on draft breakdown and yes I'm aware they only have a few 2014 games, but for someone people say has top of the first round talent I would like to see a bit more motor and effort.  If he's not in the play he kinda takes a clowney jog to the play instead of full speed ahead all the time.  That's kinda super important to me because Telvin smith would be just another guy if he didn't go balls out all the time.  Plenty of times this year he wasn't in the play, but went hard and made the play in the end

I would love to trade down and get a few extra picks. Trade down to 6(NYJ) or 10(STL) and get some extra picks. Take someone like Shane Ray or Dante Fowler.

The tacks game was meaningless, but I don't think it changes much. I think what's more important is picking the right player. How many times have we seen the first player picked bust and a player picked 9 or 10 spots later go on to have a great career?
