I think Jameis's dad loves the attention.  He seems to have something to say about his son every other day.  One day he's staying until his junior year and the next he's going to the NFL.

This story isnt over if his pops has anything to say about it.

Quote:Yeah we need to take a QB in the first round every single year until one of them turns into Aaron Rodgers.  All the other positions are not important until you have a QB.  Better yet, let's trade up to the #1 spot every year to ensure we have first dibs since it doesn't matter who we take after.
I don't know about trading up to #1 every year, I'm with this outside-the-box thinking of keep taking QB's until you find one.

I was being sarcastic.  I have no problem taking a shot on late round QBs when you have a guy already but grabbing a QB in the first round after you just grabbed one the previous year is beyond absurd.  The GM should be fired for that.

So how do you have any idea if you've 'found one' if you just keep taking them year after year? You can only play one QB at a time and you can't tell a whole lot from practice. You just give up on guys after one year? Yeah...that's outside the box alright.

Like, wayyyyyyy outside the box. As in, you may require medication because you are so far outside the box.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Personally, I like playing in someone else's box.

I actually have been thinking about this idea for a while.  I think we should draft a quarterback in the late to mid rounds every year/every other year to see if you can hit on one (if you dont have a stud, which we havent obviously)

Last year was a good year to take a chance on Bortles, now we have to hope he turns out.  I don't think it hurts us to take a qb in the 4th/5th this year.  If Henne is gone, we may be forced to.

I'm a Nole fan so I was kind of torn because I wouldn't have minded him coming back to play another season. I am however a bigger Jags fan and I really want Leonard Williams at #3 and if Jameis had gone back to the Noles, Williams would have surely been gone before our pick. Now, Jameis may end up going to TN, but I don't care, we have our QB and I think he'll be better in the long run anyway.

I don't think Tennessee is picking a QB since they have Mettenberger to develop

Well in that case, that potentially leaves us with one of the two QB's and trade bait, which is also a good thing. This is a pretty good draft for us and our position is perfect.

I think they want to go defense here also, but they did only invest a 6th round pick into the guy.  Really depends what they think of him.  I can see them going either way.

I personally think that the Bucs should take Winston. If Tennessee does not then some team will offer a group of picks sufficient for the Titans to trade down. Jets, Bears, Rams, Browns and Texans could all be in the mix to trade up for a chance at a Franchise QB. Who is coming out next year that could be viewed as a Franchise QB?

The first two picks will be QBs because the demand for QBs exceed the supply.

We are in a great spot. QBs go 1, 2 we get Williams.  If not, we have great trade bait or take the 2nd best player in the entire draft (I don't buy that Winston or Mariota are top 2, regardless of value or need).  I firmly believe at least one of these guys is gone when we are on the board.
