So with everyone on this board talking more or less a DE or Amari cooper as the possible pick at 3, I found it interesting that they slotted us for a LB.  I haven't taken the time to look into this guy but figured hey, at least its different.

Gene Smith is with the Jets not the Jags.

Dante Fowler is projected as a DE/OLB. He has a great frame for SOLB which we need help with. I didn't watch him play, so I don't know if he is good in coverage as an OLB needs to be at times.

I'd be OK with this pick if we don't get a SOLB in free agency and moved down a couple spots. Then we would only need a MLB, and our starting LB group could be solid. Yes Poz is good, but he does need help staying healthy.

Im not sold on Fowler. Has the size and I'll admit that I didnt keep track of him much thiz year, I just remember last year people were loving him despite the fact he got around 75% of his stats in two games. Oh well, im hoping Caldwell can hit a home run this year, we need one pretty badly

What a completely different mock. So many random selections lol. Don't see someone like Kevin White going 4th overall.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, but then on the flip side I wonder if this is because of how they think teams will address stuff in free agency as well as the projecfed rise and fall.  Gotta remember despite this guy being on NFL.com for the most part his entire job for them is to do the work a scout would.

I always remember that every year there is like 4-5 QBs slotted for the 1-2nd rounds then usually like 2 at most go in the first 2 rounds then the rest go in like the fourth.  I wonder how close this will talent wize/where they are actually drafted compared to other mocks out there i've seen.

You must have not seen me recently if you think "everyone" here wants Amari Cooper or a defensive end. I have always strongly opposed both options and clearly explained why several times. Daniel Jeremiah obviously agrees we don't need either, so a linebacker would be a much better pick.

I like Fowler and think he will be a stud, but not at 3.

Would you trade down for him?

why do you take everything so personal.... I don't post that often, but every time i see you posting it's as if you think the person who posted is taking a personal shot at your intelligence or believes.

I was just telling you how it is: that not everyone wants Amari Cooper or a defense end this year. People who post here often know that.

What's the difference between posting and reading..... because I see a lot of people who post here, but don't read what other people say...

I like Daniel Jeremiah, but this looks like your classic contrarian mock. No risk in throwing something wild out early on in the process that will get you more attention, but I would be pretty surprised if he is this out there when it comes close to draft time.

What is so wild about his mock? Just becouse its not the typical Winston, Marriota, Williams top 3, the players all the same players that every mock and top 20 prospects has, just not in the exact same order, which the real draft will be not in the same order as every typical mock. Its not like he has 2nd round and 3rd round prospects going in the top 10.

He also has us picking Dante Fowler, who is not the best linebacker, and David Caldwell never reaches for need like Gene Smith did. I like Fowler and would love to get him, but #3 would be reaching.

I agree,  if we go DE then it should be Gregory.

What makes Gregory better? Because all the mock drafts during the season had him rated higher? I watched them both play and Gregory is just a big tall athletic guy but he doenst play hard every play. Fowler, Ray and Williams plays hard every play and are just as productive, Fowler is a top ten pick, what does it matter if he goes 3 or 8.

From what I read, Gregory's ceiling is much higher.

Based on what? Potential? Potential gets your fired, we need guys whos ready to play right now, the whole thing is a crap shoot anyways, they are both rated pretty close, give me the guys who plays hard in that situation.
