Where did I deny that Gator fans dislike Urban Meyer?  There's obviously tons of hate out there.  He left that wake at Bowling Green and Utah as well.

Meyer was disingenuous at UF, in my opinion.  I think everything Meyer does is in the name of recruiting (and that's obviously his job), but I'm not so sure how much he has the best players interest at heart like he says.  It just all comes across as fake.

 

The time at UF where he confronted the reporter about what Deonte Thompson said about Tebow and how it was reported....at the time, all the UF fans were saying wow, he's sticking up for the player!  It just came off as a jerk thing to do to a reporter that was reporting the story 100% as it was.  

 

The part of the op's link that I found funny was when Meyer said he wouldnt let his kid go play at UF because of the players they had playing for them....the players he recruited.  The top 1% of 1%.

And this makes him a lousy despicable person? Or makes him just about like every other coach that has ever coached before? My guess in a few years he will say something similar at Ohio State and then bolt to the NFL. Kind of what coaches do.

I know you did not say that specifically, but that was kind of what the article was all about and a few others had jumpers on and agreed with also. And my real point is he is no different than any other coach for the most part or any professional athlete either.


And you know sometime when dealing with your job you have to be a bit biased to your current employer. I know if I were looking to change jobs, but had nothing really lined up for sure, but my current boss asked if I were happy in my position, I am pretty sure I would say you bet so bossman! Love it here.
