This was an issue for Kaepernick too, but seems to be working out fine, for now at least.

 

Kaep has 57% accuracy and less than 200 yds per game so far this season.  That means that of all QB's who have taken a snap this season, Kaep ranks 45th in completion percentage, and 35th in yards per game.  He's thrown 9 TD's and 5 INT's so far this season.  By comparison, Sam Bradford is having a much better year than Kaep with 60.7% completion, 241 yards per game, and 14/4 TD/INT ration.

 

Perception is everything.  Kaep isn't doing as well as people think as far as the passing game goes.

Cherry picking? You're the one trying to say that Bridgewater has no competition at all compared to MM. That's just not correct.

 

You also have to factor in how many weapons MM is surrounded by and style of offense that he plays in. Don't get me wrong, I like MM and would be fine with him, but to say that he's better than Teddy based on level of competition is way off base.

My point was, since he's such a dual threat, it makes the offense work, even though he's not the most accurate.

 

Eventually, he does need to operate better in the pocket, but for now, it's working quite well for the 49ers.

Caldwell and Bradley can't afford to captain a team that'll finish with one of the two worst records in the NFL for a third straight season. This isn't the NBA. After Jacksonville goes 1-15 (at best) this year, they'll need a face to build around and show that the horrors of the Gabbert era were actually worth it.

 

The team with the first pick this year won't pass on getting Bridgewater for themselves, just like the team with the first pick in 2015 won't pass on getting Winston for themselves.

You should only trade for a King's Ransom if you think the pick won't turn out.  If you pass on Bridgewater and he works out, you're going to likely end up regretting it.  All you really end up getting for next year with this deal are 3 extra picks.  With the shape this team is in now, that's not going to help a lot -- especially when only one of them is before the 4th round.  And you end up dropping ten spots in the 1st round at that, meaning bottom of the Top 10 talent.  

 

If this team doesn't win at least 3 games next year, I don't see this staff lasting long.
