***OFFICIAL Seattle Seahawks vs New England Patriots SB Gameday Thread***

Cat teams are all in the same boat. That's why my favorite teams after the Jags and Eagles (because of my wife, though she's close to giving up on football because of her sister being a mean patriots fan... she almost makes me want to give it up too. If it weren't for this board I probably would because I like most of the people here) are the Lions, Panthers, and Bengals.
Go Cat teams!
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Cat teams don't have any Super Bowl wins but we don't take a backseat to any teams fans when it comes to loyalty!
If Andy Dalton can turn things around, and the Lions keep building... we could have an All-Cat Bowl.
We almost had one before. Back in the old days. Two young expansion teams were moments away from facing off in the Super Bowl. Only for the Jags to be beaten by the... Patriots. Yeah, I hate them from back then too.

Quote:It was a very good halftime show. They past two SB's have stepped up their game with good shows! I usually hate SB half time show and don't watch it. But this is easily my 1st or 2nd favorite Superbowl halftime show I've seen. Katy Perry is underrated as a song writer and singer. (And yes I know most is likely lipsynced). This Superbowl lived up to it's hype nonetheless. Didn't pay much attention to the commercials this time though.
One other thought that comes to mind is Injuries are part of the game. But the loss of Nickel CB Jeremy Lane and DE Cliff Avril substantially impacted the Super Bowl. While Avril made a costly Offside penalty on a 3rd Down, not having him part of the DE rotation when the Seahawks were trying to protect a 2nd half lead is something that probably caught up to the Seahawks. Both from the standpoint of Avril's pass rush ability and the other Defensive Lineman having to spend more time on the field.

Back in the 1996 season, I was certainly rooting for the Cat expansion teams to reach the Super Bowl. Based on how that season was going, especially the playoffs, I thought it was going to happen. Plenty has to happen for the elusive all Cat Super Bowl to happen soon but the law of probability is on our side.

Watching the stupid one-yard throw at the end makes me glad I could watch the KItten Bowl 12 hours ago.

The Jags are a few years off yet, unless Bortles lights the world on fire. And the Panthers really need some help at WR.

I'll plan on watching the Kitten Bowl if they combine the game with the Puppy Bowl. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:You'd think so. All 4 teams certainly have key question marks that have to be answered. What you mentioned about the specific teams is reality. Looking for a silver lining, at least the other 28 teams also have significant issues they have to resolve to get to the Super Bowl.
Quote:I'll plan on watching the Kitten Bowl if they combine the game with the Puppy Bowl. Pet Bowl I. There's actually a video game where puppies play football. It's pretty wild.

Quote:Pet Bowl I. It can even be combined with the Dawg Pound, though that will quickly end the G-rated nature of the game as the bottles start flying at the kittens, pups, and zebras.
Quote:I'll plan on watching the Kitten Bowl if they combine the game with the Puppy Bowl. I have a thread about the Kitten Bowl so if you are interested, check that out. He may have begun to decline now, but there's no one I'd rather want behind center than Brady in his prime. And really bro…. the check downs weren't check downs. It was clearly the game plan. It's what that defense gives you, so they picked them apart with it. When you've got #11 and #80 getting crazy YAC on 4 yard passes, why not?? This was exposed as Seattle's 'weakness' early in the season. Most who paid attention were expecting to see tons of short passes and outside runs.
No one could have written the script for the way the season ended for 4 NFC Playoff teams. The Lions season ended on the road against the Cowboys in bizarre fashion. The same happened to the Cowboys on the road against the Packers the following week. The same happened to the Packers on the road against the Seahawks the week after, in an OT loss that looked like it would never even reach OT. Then two weeks later, the Seahawks were on the wrong end of the Super Bowl that changed at the blink of an eye when victory looked like a repeat was on the verge of happening. Surreal.
Quote:If I were putting together a dream team of historical players from the past 30 years, I'd pick 2011 Tom Brady first every single time. Brady's MO for all 3 playoff games are check downs. It is what they do. The game plan is always to check down. I don't know how people don't see that more. But every game I ever watch with Brady for the last few years, it's pretty much all check downs spriinkled in with a few intermediate throws to keep the D guessing. On a side note, I thought Missy Elliot was the best part of the half-time show! Still really bummed about the Patriots winning... Man I can't stand that team. Bunch of cheaters!

Pats will be in the next Super Bowl too. AFC is so weak, Caldwell needs to get busy and we need Bortles to take two steps forward.
I swear that the Pats and the NFL are one entity.
