Fowler Jr. is Mike Mayock's #1 edge rusher in this years draft.

Not sure why personally. If he fails, it won't be because he sat in the same chair Derrick Harvey did during Intro to Psych. class.

Yeah. That comp makes no sense to me either.

Fowler is an effort player.  Derrick Harvey was lazy as could be.

edit...at least that was my take on him. He seemed to take plays off and not give enough effort.  That, and he would get absolutely dominated by tackles.

He probably is the nastiest player in the draft. He is ferocious.

Nice article that has info on Fowler.

I'm more on board with him than I am Leonard Williams.

Very good article. Reminded me of MMQB. I have always liked Fowler but I still like Williams and Gregory over him. I'd be happy with Fowler too. Seeing as much as he dropped back at UF I think he'd make a great fit for our OTTO. Love his elite motor and aggressiveness.

Nice little article.

As a sidenote, his analysis of Vic Beasley (even though he's critical of Beasley, mostly due to size concerns) actually makes me hope he falls to the 2nd round. He'd make a good OTTO.

For anyone who is skeptical about Fowler

IMMEDIATELY go watch him on YOUTUBE playing against Tennessee in 2013.  Its insane...

It seems like the more information I gather, the more and more impressive Fowler seems and the less impressive Gregory seems. I really hope that if Williams is off the board, that we wither trade back to gain extra picks, or we pick Fowler instead of Gregory. The more and more I think about it, I would love to sign either JPP, Greg Hardy or Jerry Hughes and then draft Fowler to be the OTTO linebacker. We gain 2 very top notch pass rushers one on the line, and one in the linebacker core.

I was asking for games that Leonard Williams played good in another tread. Fowler is good in EVERY game I have seen. Hell of a player.

Its harder to tell how good Williams is as he is normally lined up inside as a DT instead of the DE position which gets a little more glamorous.

I would like to know Fowlers combine 40 time. He could become a decent Otto, but I haven't seen him in coverage yet.

Next year, Bosa will be in William's draft position, but Bosa gets more pressure as he is used outside.

Didn't want to start another thread, but Fowler Jr. isn't cooling for me. He should be the pick at 3. I can't name a guy that fits this culture more or more of a need than Fowler Jr. for the LEO. I like guys that are young, productive, and still have upside. Maybe I just like talking Fowler Jr. But man is he one heck of a player, personality, and fit for this team at 3.

By draft position, do you mean Joey Bosa will be a top five pick? I don't know about that, but the first defensive lineman off the board would be a realistic prediction.

Leonard Williams sometimes plays outside too. FWIW Todd McShay called Bosa "the J.J. Watt of college football," which Bosa himself does not agree with.

Quote:If we trade back to the 10-12 range or so then absolutely, but I would be upset with him at 3 or if he was taken with Ray on the board still.

Wait. I thought you didn't like Ray? Two months ago you wanted him? Interesting.

Yep, I already did a mea culpa for that mistake on here very shortly thereafter, but thanks for bringing it up again. Based purely on watching them live as a football fan on Saturdays, and certainly not isolated as prospects, I was very temporarily tricked into thinking Ray could be an elite prospect. That myth was quickly dispelled, however.
