the thing is, most of Harvin's baggage was that 12+ million a year salary... which goes away after being cut.  Patriots will sign him to a discount deal and win another super bowl probably.

 

But my Jaguars are too good for him apparently.  We're above that.

 

 

 With Gus Bradley having close ties to the Seahawks organization,  it's safe to assume that Bradley and Dave Caldwell are going to get plenty of input from the Seahawks brass regarding Percy Harvin.  How much the Jaguars brass weighs the Seahawks brass input remains to be seen.   My gut feeling though is the Jaguars probably won't offer Harvin a good enough contract for him to accept the Jaguars offer.

There's a couple of reasons why. You don't think Geno had anything to do with that at all? Harvin on this offense would be an upgrade, and that's what this offense needs is an upgrade. Whether its Harvin or someone else. My point is, most fans on this site seem so scared to TRY to get better. Not every player can be a chiorboy.


You can buy a damn pinata, wrap it in a Jags jersey and line it up on offense and it might be an upgrade too.

In 2014, Allen Hurns, Cecil Shorts and Allen Robinson all had more receiving yards than Percy Harvin.  The guy who Harvin would "replace" on this offense, Marqise Lee, had only 60 yards less.  All 4 averaged more yards per reception than Harvin.

 

This isn't 2010-11 anymore when we were trotting out the likes of Mike Thomas, Mike Sims-Walker, Jason Hill and Jarrett Dillard.  There's legit talent at receiver, they just need to grow.  IMO, he's not enough of an upgrade on Lee to put up with his garbage antics, and he's not going to replace Sanders and be the seldom used receiver that returns punts, especially not for the money he'll be asking for..
