What happened with Alualu?

Quote:Lol sorry, I missed this post. I was actually wondering when you would show up. Im glad you did.

Funny, how did I back track? I said Alualu didn't ruin his career during the infamous Oklahoma that Jack Del Rio made him do. He didnt. In fact, here's the video

Some career ending knee injury. I dont doubt he hurt his knee eventually, all NFL players get banged up, but this whole Oklahoma knee blow out never happened. I have heard people blame Jack Del Rio for "ruining" Alualu's career with that Oklahoma.

Onto the surgery, it was a self described "minor" microfracture surgery on his knee. He had cartilage cleaned out because he was " playing through two years of NAGGING pain and OCCASIONAL swelling." (nfl.com).

Unfortunate? Absolutely. Did it effect his play? For a while. Did it ruin his career? Absolutely not. In fact, in 2012, Alualu pretty much agrees, " Last week's game versus the Colts was the best he's felt since he entered the league as the No. 10 overall pick in the 2010 draft." (rotoworld.com)

He also states in 2013 that his knee was nearly 100%, saying, "I tell you what, it's been the best it's felt for the offseason, It's real close to 100 percent." (nfl.com)

"We finally have Alualu at 100% " people like John O used to say, but of course, when things didnt pan out again, it was back to the ol' knee injury that "ruined" his career. Sorry, I dont buy it. Even Alualu said the surgery was minor, and that it was nearly 100%. This team has two Defensive lineman hurt, one with a devastating ACL tear, why hasn't Alualu been resigned? One of his strengths is versatility correct? He played just as much 3 tech as he did 5 tech last season, don't you think that resigning him would be a pretty big deal? Or do you think that maybe, just maybe, our FO doesn't WANT to resign him?

Now onto you. I find it funny how you accuse me of being obsessed with Alualu, yet you couldnt stop talking about how " bad " Andre Branch was until he shut you up. Was I right about Alualu? Its looking like it.

Funny how things turn out, huh?
I thought this thread was dead....

Anyways, do you know what microfracture surgery is and how it relates to D-Linemen? There is no such thing as a "minor".

Quote:Generally speaking, microfracture surgery is thought to be the equivalent of a death rattle for a professional athlete's career. Many players never make it back from the procedure. Those that do are often a shell of what they were before the procedure.

That's a quote taken from the Texans SB nation website regarding Clowney and his "minor surgery". The list is short of players able to make it back having a successful, productive career after microfracture.

Hey, Tyson was the one who called it a minor surgery, not me. He also was the one who said his knee was nearly 100%, feeling as good as it did in college.

Clowney's knee ended his season, Tyson Alualu never missed a game.

Every player describes his surgery as minor. Have you ever heard a player ever describe a surgery as major?

Ive never seen a player describe a surgery that ruined his career as "minor" etheir. I also have never heard them say they felt as good as they did in college.

Lol we have to read between the lines with Alualu saying he had a minor knee surgery, but when our dline coach says he wants him back, that's obviously the truth. Because all coaches are up front about how they feel about a player, huh? What coach has ever said " I don't want this player back"? We also wanted Maurice Jones Drew back 2 years ago.

What NFL player had knee surgery that WASNT minor in the offseason, and was ready to start by the next preseason?

Andre Branch is bad. The difference is that you would see me in other threads discussing other topics. You on the other hand only showed up to talk obsess about Alualu. It was weird.

I'll admit when someone makes me look stupid. But it isn't Andre Branch- as he continues to be nonproductive on the field. And it certainly isn't you either, boy.

You have a choice between talking about Alualu, or how Shad Khan needs to be like George Steinbrenner. Your pick.

He was Renaldo Wynn 2.0 except we took him at 10 and heard crickets in his draftclass and Wynn was more of a "Oh, okay.." selection when we took him at 21.

I love these topics where posters declare they've 'schooled' others. I rarely see anything of the sort. Just people tossing their opinions around then declaring themselves the victor.

What was Red Bryant's sack total in 2014?  How about Roy Miller?  I guess they were trash, too,

Bryant - 23 tackles, 1 sack.

Miller - 21 tackles, 1 sack.

Alualu - 30 tackles, 2 sacks.

No doubt, Tyson Alualu is a valuable commodity especially since we can not count on having SenDerrick Marks available for the first half of the 2015 season. He is worth the 4 Mil contract offering? Could he get more on the open market? Not sure.

If you can't tell the difference between Red Bryant and Tyson Alualu, I don't know what to tell you.
