And the competitive disadvantage is the real killer imo.

I have a friend from college who has been living in London for the past 5 years and this basically sums up his impression of what locals think about American football. They just don't care about it.
Section 214. Go Canes!
The premise of this article lacks merit. The fact that games aren't getting much media coverage over there is hardly enough to conclude that American football isn't catching on. Everything is new right now. Those fans who came out to watch this game and who continue to come to the London games will be rewarded for their faith in a few year as the Jaguars develop into a contender. They're going to be able to say "I was with them from the start" just like those of us who suffered through the Jaguars Inaugral 1995 season. And yeah I realize that '95 squad would whoop this current squad.

I've never thought to read British Papers to get my fix of NFL news so why would there be huge coverage? Not to mention the fact its the middle of the premier league season.
Something more telling would be how many gamepass subscriptions and viewers of the games on a sunday on tv. I bet it's increasing Quote:The premise of this article lacks merit. They'd lose viewers and subscriptions. To say the article lacks merit, well, lacks merit in itself.

One of the top teams in the NFL dominated a bottom feeder (and one of the worst team of all time), what's there to promote about? Now, if its the N.E Patriots vs the Denver Broncos or Broncos vs Cowboys, I'm sure the press coverage would be much better.
At best I can envision American Football being a niche sport in the U.K. in the next few decades. I seriously doubt masses of people in the U.K. are going to become NFL fans. The vast majority of people in the U.K. either could care less about the American Football and/ or trash the sport.
Interestingly, when on a trip to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland in 2000, I met someone who was from the U.K. We started talking about sports. When the NFL came up into the discussion, the one player he remembered was William " The Refrigerator " Perry. This was an indication to me that gimmicks are what makes impressions with many, if not most, U.K. sports fans when becoming familiar with NFL football, not the quality of play in a game.
Most don't care. I talked to plenty and soccer will always be the top priority. The game as Wembley was less of a game and more of party. Maybe I'm way off base but it's how I saw it.
Although I did talk to 2 guys who were diehard fans of the redskins and Vikings who came to the rally and knew their stuff. Which leads me to believe that the big time nfl fans in London already have a team. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
People from the UK talk so much trash about football and how much better their insanely boring Soccer is, and we're trying to give them something they don't deserve and possibly take it away from a city that loves football (if it was a relocation)
