Wow. Where I grew up seventh grade was the earliest kids could play football.
When I read that, I thought there was no way that was true. Then I looked on Google News and saw other sites writing about it too. Recruiting has gotten far too ridiculous.

My guess is that the kids listed are either kids that have parents with too much money or kids that play on traveling teams and have overzealous coaches. Even so, Rivals has no business publishing these types of profiles for 11 year olds.

Yeah but did anyone notice the running back was 5'11 170 + pounds? Jacksonville's 1st and 2nd round picks in 2024. It is a bit much, but it will be a little interesting to see if anyone of these kids pans out later on
*i first read the article on the website Saturdays Down South and they shpwed the RB rival info

It is a bit much, but it will be a little interesting to see if anyone of these kids pans out later on you will notice that not many of the kids in the little league world series actually make it. it's the same idea. it's too early to tell what kind of true talent they have. with kids that age its more of a battle of who hits puberty first.
I was mostly being sarcastic but i follow your drift. Several kids in my high school a few years moved to varsity im eight grade. None panned out

Ten years from now:
"And the Johnsons' newborn baby, look out for him! 22 inches long, 9 lbs. 7 ozs. at birth, he's got the size to project to being a solid tackle at the pro level." We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I guess I shouldn't have been surprised at the level of seriousness some parents took the sport when coaching my 5-6 son's year old team 2 years ago.

Quote:Ten years from now: More like: "Mrs. Bortles unborn child... will it be a boy? And if so, what position will he play? Will he be a QB like his father? The Bortles have said that they don't want to know the gender of the child before he or she is born, but sources are digging into more information."
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Youtube channels, website listings, travel way too often for a kid...it's just crazy the stuff they do now.

I wonder what percentage of NFL players were 5 and 4 star recruits. Probably not a very high percentage. Much ado about not much.

Much ado about not much. Fun fact: There were zero five star recruits in the starting Super Bowl lineup. Both teams, both sides of the ball.

Quote:I wonder what percentage of NFL players were 5 and 4 star recruits. Probably not a very high percentage. Much ado about not much. It would be better to do a break down of the amount of 3/4/5 star recruits that ended up being in the NFL by percentage. I found this. It breaks down only 5 star recruits. I'm willing to bet the numbers dip a bit with the other ratings. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000...l-recruits Here's a break down showing the 4/5 star recruits made up 26 of the top 50 ranked NFL draft players and 24 were 3 star recruits or lower. The thing is, there are many many many more 3 star recruits than 4 and 5 star, so that makes the percentages out of whack. http://miamiherald.typepad.com/hssports/...worse.html |
