I think he's always been that high and his times simply confirm his play on the field.

Changing my mind for real this time, I dont want any part of Julius give me Charles Clay instead

Free Agent Mock Based on Player Preference and Rumored Asking Price:

TE Charles Clay - 5 years - 30 million - 6 million per year

WR Jeremy Maclin - 5 years - 47.5 million- 9.5 million per year

OG Orlando Franklin - 5 years - 37.5 million - 7.5 million per year

FS Devin McCourty - 5 years - 40 million - 8 million per year

OLB Akeem Ayers - 5 years - 20 million - 4 million per year

*Big Play Clay is best TE for the price, not super far behind Cameron and Thomas, but much cheaper.

*Maclin is best WR fit because he is a burner and will help take pressure off Bortles and the young WR core. Was thinking Smith until I saw his agent is Rosenthal, meaning his value will go from a reasonable 7 mill to closer to 8.5, which is a hell no situation.

*Franklin would move to RT, Humongous upgrade. Slightly cheaper, and more versatile than Bulaga. No injury concerns and establish run and pass blocker.

*McCourty, 2nd best FS in NFL. Still young.

*Ayers, cheap option opposite of Smith. Was thinking Worilds, but I'm not sure he fits our scheme. Could be wrong.

We would still have really nice cap flexibility and addressed most needs, upgrading 5 positions. Another good draft and watch out.

I always thought Johnson would be in that 3rd-4th round mix.  His 40 time doesn't change much, I like his vision decisiveness when he sees the hole.

Free Agency

Devin McCourty-Guy is the ball hawking safety that we need to pair with Cyp

Charles Clay-He is a good TE that is stable unlike Cameron and Thomas who get hurt alot

Brian Orakpo-Do i think he is a stable guy like Clay? No do i think he is a really good 1 down pass-rusher and better than Branch? Yes

Dwayne Harris-Good returner and is an above average slot

Bryan Bulaga-The only RT who i think will be good on the NFL is Collins and i doubt he will be there in Round 2 so might as well splash the cash on the best RT available

Draft

Round 1-Danny Shelton DT-Wash,guy was a beast at the Senior bowl and would start over Miller he has a massive frame and can also rush the passer. I would put Williams here but i dont think he will be available at 3. Could trade back to 6 with the NYJ if they want Cooper or a QB. He is compared to Wilfork and Hampton who have had pretty good careers to say the least.

Round 2-Shaq Thompson OTTO-Wash.Guy is a freak athlete who plays fast and even though he is undersized he can cover which Gus said is the most important thing he wants in the OTTO.

Round 3-Jay Ajayi RB-Boise St, big physical back who will be the best back out of this class unless Gurley gets back to full strength guy runs hard, has good balance and can catch the ball out of the backfield.

Round 4-Shaq Mason G-Georgia Tech, physical run blocking G who during senior bowl week did a good job in pass protection. When he plays good teams he has his best games and was the best player on GT this year.

Round 5-Lorenzo Doss CB-Tulane, Has good instincts when the ball is in the air and also is 5'11 so he isnt huge but he has pretty good height. Super aggressive had 15 picks over his career and plays through injury the one knock on him is his speed which we will see on sunday.

Round 6-Gerald Christian TE-Louisville, Has good athleticism and is a good move TE but the main problem is his blocking. Was a LB at UF before he transferred and changed positions.

Round 7-Good luck

I would seriously lose it if we drafted a NT 3rd overall.

You mentioned Danny Shelton and from everything that was said the last few days, many scouts are really high on this guy. He's getting compared to Ngata, which is pretty awesome for him. I think if we do trade out of 3, he may be the pick. Just seems like a guy they would covet. Not at 3 though, maybe 6 +

Even with overpaying, I think we could get Barksdale for about 3 million less overall. Also, do you think we need to sign Parker, draft Cox, and Sample. I'm just curious what your safety depth chart looks like, meaning what are we doing with Loston, Cyp and Evans in this scenario?

Don't like your draft at all, but that's just me.

I think it's crazy drafting Ogbuehi in the 2nd round just to have him sit and learn, especially after you signed Barksdale in free agency.

Also.... 71m in signing bonuses?  That's like ridiculous.

Drafting Cedric Ogbuehi in Rd 2 is like drafting another Rd 1 pick. He can play OLT, ORT and OLG.

He is coming off an ACL injury which needs to heal as well as become acclimated to the NFL.

I read where Greg Olson like to bring in another OT in short yardage situations so Ogbuehi would be playing like an inline TE.

The Jags need depth along the Oline and if Beadles is not the answer then the Jags can plug in Ogbuehi at OLG and move on.

Every year someone goes down and so having quality depth along the oline is important.

As far as the money, there will be too much money spent by every team and certain quality Free Agents will certainly get overpaid.

That is what too much money does. It gets wasted.

Lastly about the signing bonuses, the Jags can use up some of their cap space in 2015 and not have it carry over into 2016. Meaning the 2015 cost can be higher than the 2016 cost just to manage the cap in future years.

When a player gets more money upfront then he likes it more than having to wait to get his money.

As far as Safety depth, I have brought in a FS and a SS. Other than Evans and Cyprien, who do the Jags have that they need to keep? Competition will decide who is on the roster.

Pretty ridiculous free agency right there. Realistically we will be lucky to sign 3 of those players and I don't think Cobb will get 10+ mill a year. What do you think about that Raiders C, wisienewski? I think there's a good chance he signs with us.

The draft is solid as well. Is Williams gone? If jake fisher is there in the second I would lean toward drafting him but Ogbuehi will be an above average RT for years so no objection there. We can rehab him with no rush because of Barksdale.

All in all great offseason!

Free Agency

Julius Thomas

Chris Culliver

Josh Freeman

Draft

Round 1 - Dante Fowler DE/OLB Florida or Vic Beasley DE/OLB Clemson

Round 2 - Todd Gurley RB Georgia

Round 3 - Stephone Anthony ILB/OLB Clemson

Round 4 - Eric Rowe FS/CB Utah or Byron Jones CB/FS UCONN

Round 5 - Jeff Heuerman TE Ohio State

Round 6 - Bobby Richardson DT/DE Indiana

Round 7 - Mitch Morse OT/OG Missouri

I would love if we could end up with Byron Jones as well as Eric Rowe in the 4th, but without a trade, its not going to happen.

The reason I am not choosing a OT higher in the draft, and not in free agency, is because I believe the Jaguars will go with Brennan Williams and Austin Pasztor for one more season. Freeman would be brought in to compete for the backup role and be a camp arm. Thomas, would be brought in simply to help boost Bortles' confidence and to be a security blanket. Sure does help that he is a nice red zone target though. Also, if for some reason McCourty happens to end up a jaguar, I would expect the pick to be Byron Jones and not Eric Rowe.

I think there is a better chance of signing Mike Pollack - C - Bengals than Wisniewski of the Raiders.

Simply put, the Jags like Bowanko and probably will not spend 7 to 8 Mil/Yr to replace him, which is what Wisniewski might command on the Free Agent market.

Teams have lots of money and it is going to be spent driving up the cost of Free Agents.
