Blackmon back for 2015?

“As a matter of fact, I’m very optimistic,” Khan said. “I think he’s paid his dues. I think he’s got his life together. I think he can be a role model for people who have gone through hard times. We’re waiting for him.” - Owner on Blackmon
Having another WR compete cant hurt the Offense potential this offseason.. hopefully Blackmon can make a comeback We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Since his suspension there has been very little said about the whole situation. He got arrested again and Blackmon just went Dark after that. There were rehab rumors but nothing really conclusive.
Caldwell said he heard through a second hand source that blackmon is doing well and doing the right things. So the million dollar question is what would have to happen for him to return to the team. Yes he has to file to return but how long does that process take and how long if ever will the NFL rule on such a request. Was Caldwell speaking doing the right things in his life or returning to the team? Josh Gordons case on the other hand is clean cut. He has seemed to mess up more than Blackmon but now is facing a one year ban while blackmon is banned perhaps forever. I just don't understand why the case is so quiet and why there is no definite answer is to if he plans on playing football again. ![]()
He's under the radar now. Once he applies and is reinstated then he's back in the spotlight. If he's trying to return then staying out of the spotlight would be important. My .02
Quiet 'cause there's nothing to say. He's working his way back for reinstatement. It all follows a process that has already been discussed ad nauseum.

I think he will be on the roster this year, but he will get back to form maybe as late as London. I'm so excited for him to have his life straight, and our reviving corps is gonna be excellent.

What mystery? There's nothing to talk about. As its already been discussed ad nauseum, once he files for reinstatement the league has 60 days to rule in favor of, or against his request. He can file at any time now.

He can go about handling his problems and mistakes without some ongoing dialogue or narrative with the media if he chooses. We'd all like to know more and know that we can count on him to contribute - but we won't know for a few more months. Not a big deal. I just want him to come back and start fresh wearing his old #81

Quote:I just don't understand why the case is so quiet and why there is no definite answer is to if he plans on playing football again. I totally agree. Other than Ray Rice, it seems like everyone else gets a finite suspension whereas JB is indefinite. Perhaps it is because he never took the drug test as opposed to actually failing the screening. I wonder how many subsequent drug screenings he missed as well -- perhaps that's the real story behind the lack of information. Quote:Quiet 'cause there's nothing to say. This could easily be a situation in which the less that's reported regarding Justin Blackmon in the weeks and maybe even months ahead, the better it is for him and for the Jaguars.

I just had the craziest dream last night. Blackmon was playing for the Patriots wearing number 11 and tearing it up. Hopefully that does not happen, unless we get compensated well for him.
So I spoke with a member within the organization who was telling me that they have heard what you've all basically heard which was Blackmon is getting cleaned up and preparing for a return. All signs point that he's doing well and working on getting back into shape. Take it with a grain of salt but was a reputable source.
Also contributors to Lee, Robinson, and Shorts: They got hurt a lot because essentially they were over-working their bodies. For the rooks, they had to do the off-season stuff to pile on their draft stock, for Shorts, he simply just over did it. Another thing is that the o-line was back in the weight room as early as February trying to work on getting stronger with Joekel being one of the first there.
I think I am cautiously optimistic that Blackmon will not only be back for the 2015 season, but beyond. I have heard a lot of reports that he is doing very well in cleaning himself up. However, a lot of local reporters were always saying the same thing about Josh Gordon, but then he keeps getting himself into trouble over and over again. I'm really hoping Blackmon comes back because no two people are exactly the same. Just because Gordon is a dumbace doesn't mean that Blackmon is, completely. If Blackmon comes back, he may not immediately be the same player a lot of us fell in love with from his college days and showed flashes of potential in the NFL, but I think he can truly come back and be great if he stays clean.
