2015 Mock Drafts
|
Quote:Put me down as one who HOPES that Todd Gurley falls to the Jags at Pick 36 and that the Jags select him with that pick. Yeah, I'm starting to feel this way too. If Dave and co determine his knee will be fine then I would be completely on board. A back with that kind of potential could be HUGE for Blake. We show less advertisements to registered users. I have no concerns about whether Todd Gurley is ready to start the season at RB. I would be more than happy if he is ready for the 2nd half of the 2015 season, because long term, Todd Gurley would be the Jags next Franchise RB along the lines of Fred Taylor and MJD.
Free Agency:
1. Jerry Hughes - DE Leo - Bills - 4 Yrs - 40 Mil - 10 Mil/Yr 2. Julius Thomas - TE - Broncos - 4 Yrs - 40 Mil - 10 Mil/Yr 3. Joe Barksdale - ORT - Rams - 4 Yrs - 18 Mil - 4.5 Mil/Yr 4. Kareem Jackson - CB - Texans - 4 Yrs - 34 Mil - 8.5 Mil/Yr 5. Ron Parker - FS - Chiefs - 4 Yrs - 14 Mil - 3.5 Mil/Yr 6. Akeem Ayers - Otto LB - Patriots - 4 Yrs - 16 Mil - 4 Mil/Yr 7. Mike Wallace - WR - Dolphins - 4 Yrs - 30 MIl - 7.5 Mil/Yr Draft Rd 1(3): Leonard Williams - DT - USC Rd 2(36): Cedric Ogbuehi - ORT/OLG - Texas A&M Rd 3(67): David Johnson - RB - Northern Iowa Rd 4(103): Kwon Alexander - OLB - LSU Rd 5(138): James Sample - S - Louisville Rd 6(175): MyCole Pruitt - TE - Southern Illinois Rd 7(211): Justin Coleman - CB - Tennessee Quote:Daniel Jeremiah is projecting Marcus Mariota to the Rams at Pick 10?They have similar athletic traits but Russell Wilson was so far advanced on the x and o's board then Mariota is coming out, MM has no clue how to call a play, never took a snap under center. These are things Wilson did, his QB IQ was off the charts, his only negative was his 5'11 height.

Signing Jerry Hughes would be a huge mistake.
It would be a typical Jaguars signing. A guy that's like 3rd or 4th best on his own defensive line, playing next to 2 all-pro's.... and then we get to overpay for his average self.

People are going to disagree about which players to sign and which to avoid.
As for me, I think that Jerry Hughes is much like Dante Fowler and is a quick twitch type player. I recently saw numbers from Jason LaCanfora that suggested that Hughes will get somewhere around 9 Mil rather than the 12 Mil that I put him down for. I also saw that perhaps the Jags go for Suh. Hey, if the Jags could get an upgrade for Leonard Williams by signing Suh, then I am all for it. While the team is at it, perhaps they sign Jerry Hughes eliminating the need to draft Dante Fowler. Then they could draft Kevin White with Pick 3 and eliminate the need to sign Randall Cobb. OR they might be in a position to trade down with the Eagles taking more lower round picks and not tie up future picks with the Eagles. If the Jags could get the first 5 picks from the Eagles to trade down from Pick 3 to 20 after signing Suh and Hughes and of course Julius Thomas, then the Jags could complete their roster through the draft by moving up and down with the extra picks afforded from the trade. All I know is this, until March 10th comes, we all are going to ride the rollercoaster and hopefully have some fun with all of this.
I still don't think the Eagles would trade 5 picks in one draft to get Mariota. I think something more likely would be their 1st, 2nd and 3rd this year, as well as maybe their 1st and 2nd next year.
That is just it, what is a 4th and a 5th Rd pick worth compared to next years picks?
On another subject, are the Jags at Jaguars.com being subliminal when they show a video on Landon Collins, a player that may fall to Pick 20, (the Eagles Rd 1 pick)? I seriously doubt that Caldwell and Bradley know what they will do either.
Quote:I seriously doubt that Caldwell and Bradley know what they will do either. Serious? I'm pretty sure Caldwell has a big board that he is very comfortable with. He's also got most "if A then B" scenarios thought out.

I'd like to see the Jags trade up into the lower half of the first round for Gurley. I know the draft is deep at the running back position but I feel Gurley would be worth it
Even with the injury I can't see him falling into the second round We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! I want a RB that can do it all. A 3-down RB that can pass protect, catch the ball out of the backfield, and run well.
Jay Ajayi is one of those guys.

Top 10 NFL mock draft 2.0
With trades with some specifics missing Tampa Bay - QB Jameis Winston Tennessee - DL Leonard Williams Jacksonville - trade down (Clev #19 or Philly) (QB Marcus Mariota) Oakland - WR Amari Cooper Washington - DE/LB Dante Fowler Jr. NY Jets - LB Vic Beasley Chicago - DT/NT Danny Shelton Atlanta - LB Randy Gregory NY Giants - trade down (CB Trae Waynes) St. Louis - WR Kevin White Jacksonville's 1st round pick w/trade down RB - Todd Gurley
WalterFootball.com just added a 5th Rd to their mock draft which can be found here:
www.walterfootball.com/draft2015.php In this draft, they have the two QBs being taken with the first two picks. Under that scenario, my picks would be: Rd 1: Leonard Williams - DE/DT - USC - Best Player in this draft? Jags 5 Tech Rd 2: Byron Jones - CB/FS - UConn - I think he would be a good fit for the Free Safety position Rd 3: David Johnson - RB - Northern Iowa - Bellcow RB Rd 4: Daryl Williams - ORT - Oklahoma - need pick Rd 5: Jesse James - TE - Penn State - Inline TE Now let's look at a scenario whereby the Titans pass on Mariota and take Leonard Williams. The Jags make a trade with the Eagles involving Picks 20, 52 and 84 as well as a 2016 Rd 1 selection for Pick 3. Which players then? Rd 1(20): Eli Harold - Otto LB - Virginia - Rush LB that fills a need Rd 2(36): Byron Jones - CB - FS - UConn Rd 2(52): Carl Davis - 5 Tech DE - Iowa Rd 3(67): David Johnson - RB - Northern Iowa Rd 3(84): Jake Fisher - OT - Oregon Rd 4(103): Anthony Harris - SS - Virginia Rd 5(138): Jesse James - TE - Penn State
Quote:WalterFootball.com just added a 5th Rd to their mock draft which can be found here: I would rather get 1 impact player like Fowler/Gregory/Beasley than a few more decent guys like you listed. Basically, I wouldn't do this trade.
