I want the rb who will make the best impact for the offense. If we dont get Murray in free agency then i definitely want us to draft Gordon in a trade back scenario. If we don't then he just goes and has a HOF career for some other smart franchise and we'll still be mopy and sappy moaners and complainers of "how come we never....." Far from drunk or high. My theory makes alot of sense, even if my player comparison is exaggerated

Color me disappointed if we blow our first-round pick on a running back when there's so much depth along the lines.

I mean,it wouldn't be a blown pick if we trade back out of the top ten. Top five, yeah i would share in that disappointment

It seems to me like you haven't watched much football in the last like 15 years.

I can see what you may have based your assumption on.

U know.. U might be right. Lol. Stupid me. To think Melvin Gordon might be draftable in the 1st round, outside of the top 10. Guess i'm quite the idiot

I thin Dallas would be a good team for Gordon to go too. He would have big holes to run through like he did at Wis.

I believe he will have a very successful career, being that in a draft class with such a deep rb group, he's right there at the top (along with Gurley)

So i do hope that we can trade back, acquire more picks to address other more glaring needs, and still take the back i feel will be the best of the draft and certainly one who would seem to be a great fit for our ZBS.

What's more, i do feel that Dave is just crazy enough (in an Einstein sorta way) to pull it off

But no matter where he goes, and Dallas would be a good fit as well, he will be a really good to great running back

Not saying it won't happen, but it will be a major mistake...one that I pray Dave would be smart enough to not make.

Quote:Why would we draft like the 4th best RB this year in the 1st round =(

I'm interested in who your top RB's are if Gordon is "like the 4th best RB" to you. Not saying your wrong but I'm always curious where people rank guys.

I like Ajayi and Abdullah more. Running back scouting certainly isn't my specialty, but I am just scared that Gordon doesn't show good vision, and showed next to zero in the passing and blocking game.

Fair enough. I do like both those guys. Personally neither guy is as good as Gordon but that's my opinion. Ajayi IMO is the third best RB this year.

I honestly like Gurley better, just that ACL for a RB... AP's of the world are a rarity

I will add that, if Gordon has close to Jamal Charles' skillset, u can't go wrong adding that type weapon outta the backfield

Gurley is the best RB no doubt. I see him and Gordon as very similar but Gurley has a little more juice. Only question mark is his knee.

Gordon and Charles are actually very similar in running style but Charles is a home run threat. I don't see the same burst from Gordon but I feel like he's better built strength wise than Charles.

Yes, obviously Gurley is Tier 1 RB by himself. That was assumed in my earlier post.

Speaking of Jamaal Charles, he seemed to bounce back pretty decently from his ACL tear.
