Orakpo?

Quote:Now about a week or so ago, I posed a question to Stigma that I think applies here. I don't get the Jerry Hughes talk. Dude played with a historically good dline and put up "solid" numbers. I would not give him a big contract.
The Jags aren't even going to sign Murray. Let alone break the bank on him
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
In ONE year we all went from "Sign Orakpo" to no thanks.
I wouldn't mind him tho. But at this point, is he better than CC?
Would Orakpo be used as a Leo-De or an Otto LB?
Due to his injury history, he might have to sign an incentive laden contract. Can't say I am not intrigued. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! I'd want to know why he failed so spectacularly in Indy. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

These are all just rumors floated by agents in an attempt to start the bidding on their player.

I devalue RBs just as much as the next guy, but who cares if they pay him? If they think he adds the most explosiveness to the offense, why not? They got the money and cap space to go after whoever they want. I'd rather they sign him than Orakpo (mainly due to age).
Jerry Hughes - 20 sacks and 40 QBH's the last two years.
Is he a product of a good defensive line? Sure, but the Jags Dline is pretty good too. Say the Jags had Leonard Williams - Roy Miller - SenDerrick Marks and Jerry Hughes. Not the same as the Bills Dline, but not bad either. The Jags need pressure and pressure comes when the player puts himself out there to make a difference. Jerry Hughes is a difference maker. The results speak for themselves.

Jerry Hughes - 2104 Stats - 53 TT and 10 sacks
Chris Clemons - 2014 stats - 36 TT - 8 sacks Looks like Jerry Hughes is an upgrade in the run game as well as the pass rush over Chris Clemons in 2014.

Quote:He seems more fit for the OTTO or the LEO? I would say OTTO.

Quote:I would say OTTO. If he is a OTTO we could get him for a cheap deal due to his injuries. If he was a LEO we can draft one because he is injury prone and won't be worth it, but OTTO, that isn't a bad choice. Quote:If he is a OTTO we could get him for a cheap deal due to his injuries. I would agree with this assessment, as long as we don't break the bank for him and assuming we can locate his eventual replacement within the next couple of years.

He has a history of fumbles, injuries, a ton of carries last year, not getting any younger, AND played behind one of the best O-lines in recent memory. Coming here is an AWFUL fit. |
