Its not going to happen unless they plan on dumping a lot of contracts.

Hey, teams pander to their fans and this is what the Giants are doing with their minions in the press.
Quote:It's all about the QB. You are correct.QB gets you the fame while Defense wins you championships. The QB does not have to be great but good enough. History has shown that a great defense can get a team a ring. Old Danny Marino or even Peyton(1 ring) can vouch. Sign Suh, find a way to get him and Marks on the field together and shut down other teams. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Methinks your argument has a lot of holes. There's really not a one-size fits all. But in general, a top QB trumps a top defensive player. Watt had one of the most dominant seasons ever for a defensive player and his team didn't even make the playoffs.
CBSsports.com has an article here:
www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25091772/agents-take-why-ndamukongs-suh-team-choice-could-come-down-to-taxes In this article several teams are mentioned among them the Jags. The article focuses on state taxes, which gives a team like the Jags an advantage because the State of Florida does not have a State Income Tax. This can amount to 3 to 4 Mil over the life of the contract. More importantly, and this is what I wish to stress here is the advantage the Jags have in structuring a deal that gives Suh more money upfront. With 68 Mil of cap space the Jags can afford to offer a contract where Suh gets 30 Mil his first year and perhaps 25 the next to guranteee him 55 Mil over the first two years. Not many teams can afford to do that and this is the biggest card the Jags have to make this deal happen.
Imagine if Oakland lands Suh then grabs Gregory. Apparently they're also looking at Perryman in the second round.
Think of that front seven. Gregory and Suh up front with Sio Moore, Denzel Perryman, And Khalil Mack behind them. That's pretty darn good.

Imagine paying an extra 13.3% State Income Tax on a 110 Million dollar contract offered by the Oakland Raiders.
(Yep that 13.3% Income State is from the Socialist State of California.) That 13.3% State Income Tax amounts to close to 15 Million over the life of the contract. Do you think the State Income Tax will not factor in the choice of where to play for Suh? Remember, Suh said, that his agent would advise him where he should play and for the most money with the best deal. All these factors bode well for the Jags and their abundant cap space.
Quote:Imagine paying an extra 13.3% State Income Tax on a 110 Million dollar contract offered by the Oakland Raiders. I seem to remember that pro athletes get income tax forms from the states where they play visiting games. I can't remember where I read it, but doesn't surprise me if it's true. If it is, then playing in California could mean being taxed at their rate AND others also taxed at the rate of the state where the game is played. Ok, I looked around and found an article on it. What a mess our tax system is that such a thing occurs! http://www.bostonglobe.com/business/2013...story.html That definitely makes me think that living in an state income tax free state like Florida would play into the decision on where to sign. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
Suh is going to try to pull a Mario Williams. Do we really want that?
