Multiple instances of being caught in lies or outlandish embellishments about covering a "war zone and being a hero saving a camera man" lying about his reporting of the JFK assassination follow up among other things.... Since the liberal media is calling him on in and he's such a conservative presence it does not surprise me the media you follow has not touched on it. I'd post links but a google search shows only liberal sources.

At least when Williams got busted it was plastered all over the liberal media outlets as well as conservative.

So I did a Google search, found two articles both just as stupid as Williams. I'm all for O'Reilly being taken off Fox News in response but that won't happen because of one difference.

Both cases of O'Reilly lying it appears didn't happen while he was employed and working for Fox News. Williams was lying about an incident while he was working for and reporting for NBC News. It's one thing for them to damage their own creditability, it's another to damage their employers. Both are equally stupid IMO.

These are the links I found:

http://www.irishcentral.com/news/Bill-OR...land.html#

For the record I don't care if it comes from "liberal" sources, I try and read a variety of different perspectives including liberal websites. Salon probably being the exception I can't make it past the first few paragraphs on almost any article I've tried to read.

I wasn't implying you wouldn't read them more I try to avoid posting liberal sources so people can't go all partisan in "I'm not reading that because commies wrote it" mode".

After the initial article calling him out on the war zone comments he went on his own show on fox and doubled down on the lies. Nearly everyone that was there has been asked about it and said things didn't happen the way he said they did. Aside from all that you are right fox wont take him off but it's not because of the above reason you suggested. He's the biggest money maker for them.

Also, congrats on new compound?

I think the big difference between O'Reilly (who's been caught in a number of lies) and Brian Williams is that Williams was on a broadcast network while FOX news is a cable network.

I'm sure you could be an expert on FOX or MSNBC if you just made stuff up that fits with their key demographic.

I could go on Fox News and say "Obama is using the affordable care act to transition into banning guns.  His top aids have said that they would push the idea that banning guns would reduce the cost of healthcare."

I could go on MSNBC and say "Republicans in congress are working on a bill that would charge mothers who get abortions with murder"

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I don't think it really matters IMO.

The extend to which is a difference is Williams was a true anchor/reporter. O'Reilly is an actor though there are millions who treat him the same as a Williams. Though I do think someone like Williams should hold himself to a hire standard it still remains a hypocrisy I think if viewers and the media do not.

I don't care one way or the other, fire both of them.
