Which right tackle should the Jags get in FA

I will pass on Bulaga due to injury history. Would rather throw money at McCourty, Cobb, Suh and Thomas. I like Stigma's idea of picking up a less expensive tackle like Free, Barksdale, Franklin or Newton and draft a guy in the second round. Right tackle is very deep in the draft and Ogbuahi or Fischer should be there in the 2nd.

Quote:As Devil's advocate, so Bulaga's injury history makes him a pass, but Thomas' injury history doesn't?I agree with this. I am more scared of Julius' ankle issues than any FA other than Cameron w/ his concussions, and even that is fairly close. All 4 years with multiple games missed because of ankle injuries is no joke to me.
Quote:As Devil's advocate, so Bulaga's injury history makes him a pass, but Thomas' injury history doesn't? Julius Thomas is not injured as often as Bryan Bulaga. I don't remember any of his injuries being concussions or causing him to lose a step when he came back. He is a low risk-high reward player. Bulaga, on the other hand, is both high risk and high reward. If he stays healthy, he can be the long-term answer. If he keeps getting hurt, he is a good patch until we find a more durable right tackle. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Am I the only one who feels like Julius Thomas is in for the money? Ummm....welcome to the NFL:
"Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot."
Quote:Ummm....welcome to the NFL:LOL that is classic. My thing is he seems like a guy who might get paid and quit working... Quote:Does anyone disapprove of Orlando Franklin? Somebody in Colorado told me he thinks Franklin is always confused on the field. If he's always confused how does he have such a high rating? He was definitely better at guard in 2014 than he looked at tackle in 2013, but he was far from a bad tackle. He'd be an upgrade over Pasztor and/or Young, but a step below Bulaga, maybe Barksdale, imo. I'm not a fan of Doug Free. He's spent the last few years constantly fighting off Jeremy Parnell for a starting job, and Parnell has played over him at times. An aging tackle that can barely hold onto the starting job ahead of a mediocre backup is not the type of guy I'd want to sign, even as a short-term fix. Since JT came into the league in 2011, Bulaga has played in more games than him. Both missed an entire season, but Bulaga has played in 36 games, JT played in 32. JT is by no means a low risk player.
Well, Free and Newton, the number 2 an 3 free agent right tackles on my list above are officially no longer free agents. Bummer.

Dallas was hoping Parnell could eventually replace Free because he is younger and would be cheaper. Dallas ran for more yards per game when Free started. When Parnell filled in for the injured Free...it had been well documented that he was a big drop off. Parnell was never able to beat out Free for the job. And Dallas just signed Free for another 3 years...good news for my Cowboys. He more than barely beat our Parnell...no contest.

Free is older, but right behind Bulaga..who will cost 2-3 million more a year and did have ACL surgery. Jags still need to go out and get him. Bortles needs protection. But your are right, Bulaga is the best FA O lineman...
