Philadelphia traded LaSean McCoy to Buffalo for Kiki Alonso

#81

that's true D6, but on the other hand if the Chipper is ahead of the curve and willing to go all in and get his Duck QB, it could change

the NFL, I sure years ago, people laughed at the idea of the split T and the forward pass, so either Chipper is a genius or a madman

but for sure he is a high stakes poker player

rumblefish, I agree that it's possible Chipper is ahead of the curve. But considering how many gadget / unconventional Offenses have faded over the years, the odds are against Chip Kelly's Offense becoming much more of the norm over the long haul.

I was reading an article in the last couple of days that 2018 Draft picks can't be traded until the beginning of the 2015 Draft. If Chip Kelly goes all out for his Duck QB on Day 1 of the draft, it could make the trade compensation the St. Louis Rams got from the Redskins in 2012 look like peanuts. If a trade like this happens, if Chip Kelly leaves the Eagles, they will be in serious trouble. That's putting it mildly.

unless he is going to go all in how else would you explain the trade for in the opinion of some,( not mine), damaged goods for a top 3 running back, again if he is making a play for his QB, right or wrong, he may be the Maverick(Top Gun) of the NFL, in that it may be the gutsiest call in NFL history

The trade initially shocked me because I consider LeSean McCoy at the very least a top 5 RB. In giving the trade additional thought, I understand it better from an Eagles standpoint because of all of the salary cap space they gained from the trade.

From my point of view, the major concern I would have if I was an Eagles fan is a possible trade for Marcus Mariota. If the trade backfires in one or more ways, the Eagles could end up in a worse situation than the Redskins got into in large part because of the ramifications of the RGIII trade.

That's what I was thinking when I read Kiko Alonso became Philadelphia's ninth Duck. But we don't know yet if he really wants to trade up for Marcus Mariota.

Quote:It probably will come down to the Jets and Bills for David Harris' services. It seems like a close call between the two teams. The Jets have the advantage of more salary cap space and Harris having football roots in the organization. The Bills have the advantage of Rex Ryan, some other former Jets Assistant Coaches, and familiarity of scheme. I'll be surprised if a team other than the Jets or Bills lands Harris.
I'd be very surprised if he returns to the Jets. He reportedly loves playing for Rex Ryan. I also think the McCoy trade signifies the Bills will go after Iupati. It would be crazy to invest that much into a RB without upgrading our OL.

I hope the Eagles learned from what happened to the Redskins trading three first round picks and a second round pick is S-T-U-P-I-D. There is simply no reason for any team to do anything like that because now everyone has seen the consequences of it.

I'm of the opinion that will be a close enough decision for David Harris, in which of the 2 teams he will choose to sign with, that it will take at least a slightly better offer by one of the teams to get Harris to sign the contract. I don't think the preference factor will be strong enough for Harris to take less money from one of the two teams. The fact that Harris has played all 8 of his NFL seasons with the Jets could easily be a significant factor in his decision making process.

Chip Kelly seems like the type of coach in which he wants to make his own history. In essence, being a trailblazer. I believe rumblefish has a similar opinion in that respect. Assuming this is Chip Kelly's mindset, I don't think what the Redskins did 3 years ago will stop Kelly repeating history or even taking it beyond the point the Redskins did. If this is the case, the question then becomes which team that picks ahead of the Eagles in the 2015 Draft will end up taking advantage of this great opportunity?

Confirmed. Bills and LeSean McCoy have a new five year deal.

.....................

This trade is in essence now official.

It's safe to assume that the Bills plan is for LeSean McCoy to contend for the 2015 NFL Rushing Title and all purpose Offensive Yards title.

Here are some additional details about LeSean McCoy's contract with the Bills. Great job by Drew Rosenhaus!
