I don't think Gerhart ever had a fair shot to get going with Jedd Fisch's schemes doing absolutely nothing to help the running game.

I agree with this, I think Jed's biggest weakness was not adjusting scheme to personnel, in other words trying to put too many round pegs in square holes

So we've missed out on McCourty. It's been reported though that Caldwell did pursure after him. Including the Eagles and Giants. Can't say he didn't try.

 

With Cobb off the table. Who else can we target? I wouldn't mind the below guys at this point:

 

Murray - RB - DAL

Smith - WR - BAL

Bulaga - RT - GB

 

We need some playmakers on offense with veteran experience. Those three guys can help us out there.

They are all average at best.

 

The fact of the matter is, we need a true #1 RB that can carry the load without getting injured.  Robinson was a nice surprise with his improvement to his new position but he hasn't shown that he can be a true #1 for a full season much less back to back seasons.
