Quote:Release him and see how many teams would be willing to sign a player barely 2 years in the NFL and facing a lifetime ban if he's reinstated. He should be forced to pay back some of the signing bonus that he's been given.Or he can get a lifetime ban while as a Jaguar and guarantee that there's no possible way he comes back and beats us on another team.
THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. Quote:When a Coach / GM starts listening to the fans....He'll be in the stands being one .......Oh Wait. My point exactlly. LOL... NH3...

The real punishment would have been to make him keep playing out the rest of the season with this cavalcade of clowns posing as a NFL team.

That Khan said to sign Blackmon because Gene would never sign a guy with behavioral problems. Now that he's suspended twice, those same people are blaming Gene.SMH. Regards.............the Chiefjag
I've never wanted anyone to fail and this holds true for B14CKMON even under his present circumstance. I'd rather that he got a lifetime suspension as a Jaguar vs. going to another team and playing the next ten years...

I am not convinced that Blackmon will be shown the door. I understand that he's got issues and been suspended twice. But when he's healthy and not suspended he's potentially an excellent wide receiver. If he is paired with the right QB, then he has the skill set to have a very productive career. I don't see this team turning its back on him.
If it's a PED, he isn't the first and he won't be the last. If it's a recreational drug, he isn't the first and won't be the last. At the end of the day the team should support him and pray that he gets better. I think we may see Blackmon suit up for the Jaguars again, because as silly as he's been, he is certainly a good player if they can get his head in the right place. I suppose moving on could happen if Khan and co don't want a player with repeated issues, but I don't see it happening unless he gives them a reason to while he's suspend.
He gets paid 2M next year. I don't care if he shot someone. I can name several players on this team that still need to go before him.

Quote:What truly made Jacksonville my favorite NFL team more than anything else was the commitment to avoiding troublemakers so that none would be on the roster. As awful as Gene Smith was, I loved this about him: When someone got in trouble, he was cut, and when a troublemaker was available, he got no job offers from the Jaguars. So I normally would say, "Cut Justin Blackmon after his suspension is over." But after reading the NFL.com article that states all of the Jaguars love Blackmon as a person, no matter what he does off the field, and the team will do everything possible ot help him fix his drug problem so he can be a better man, I decided to give him a pass. All the guys who were cut after running into trouble were not that good anyway and deserved to be cut. Blackmon, on the other paw, deserves another chance. David Caldwell's statement was exactly the right thing to say. If the team does not help Blackmon stop abusing alcohol or using a banned drug, he will continue to make those mistakes for the rest of his life. He needs to stay in Jacksonville to get the help he needs. That is all I have to say about it. That didn't take long ... Catch a ball ... Free Pass. ![]() Quote:We will not give up on J Black nor should we. He is one of the best young WR's in the game and WILL be elite. That right there is why you don't give up on a guy. Elite players deserve elite exemptions. ![]() Quote:The difference between R.J. Soward and Blackmon is that one was a complete bust, and an arrogant individual, while the other is actually a really good player who is actually well liked by the fans and coaches, but just gets caught up in these tragic situations. The NFL should make special rules for the players that get caught up in tragic situations ... well, as long as they are good. ![]() Quote:Its my fault. I drafted him on a few fantasy football teams. I guess I will have to go back to my previous strategy of picking players from AFCS opponents, for when my team ultimately suffers constant perennial player injury/ loss. #yousuckatfantasystopmakingexcuses #ohcursed1 Quote:Well said. Because he made note of all the bad things JB hasn't done ... yet? ... and he might be worth special forgiveness if he is good ... with a gooder QB? ![]() Never seen this much forgiveness coming. ... As long as he is good of course. ![]()
There is no point in releasing Blackmon. Perhaps he will beat the odds and go on to a long, productive career. If he gets through this, he will be a better person for it. I'm rooting for the young man.

Just throwing this out there as a "what if".
How would everybody feel if the Jaguars were 8-0 rather than 0-8? What if Blackmon was a huge part of the 8-0 mark? I suspect that a lot of the bad things being said about him would not be here. The bottom line is its a shame when any young man has to battle something so severe that nothing seems to help him overcome it. Money, fame, etc. doesn't matter to someone addicted, it's all about how to get the next "fix" be it some heavy drug or alcohol. Justin has the talent to be something special in this league. He is also a very young man put in a position that perhaps, he doesn't know how to cope with. I'm all for helping this guy to overcome his inner demons, not so much for the player, but for the man. I would hate to see yet another talented young person in our society fall down and become a burden to our society rather than him being successful and productive. As for the football aspect, he needs to overcome a bit more. He needs to prove that he can not only handle his personal problems, but he also needs to prove that he can play at the high level that he has already shown. I for one hope and pray that he can get though this, get the help and support that he needs, and return. He's got too much going for him and too much to lose, both on and off the field. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't. Quote:The fact that people continue to have faith that the next season will be season when things get better...is downright hilarious. It will never happen. Better order bigger tarps boys! So much for pro sports in Jacksonville. Great. Another idiot joins the group. Go away - we've met out quota.
The sun's not yellow, it's chicken.
